i was wondering after reading hte post about buying meat from the butcher's how many of us actually still have the milkman deliver our milk to the door by the local milkman?? When I was a child we always had our milk delivered to the door by the Co op milkman, and he awalys used to come around 6am so you had fresh milk for your breakfast, if you rang short of milk then you couldn't have milk to drink at night time as there may not be enough for breakfast if he came later. On a saturday he delivered the milk around lunch time as he had to collect his money. I thin kwe had three to four pints delivered per day. I would love to have milk from the local milkman but again it is much dearer. We are six in our family and i could really do with a cow in the back garden as we are always running out of milk. The children have a cup of milk to drink every morning, then milk on there ceral. Milk to go to bed on, and at least three times a week they have milk when they come in from school as we have to go off to after school clubs and we use milk as a top up food. So I think I would need at leat 8 pints of milk a day from the milk man and its a lot cheaper in the super market. Again I thin kwe should support the local tradesmen, but on a strict budget of £70 per week (for 6 of us)to buy all the food it sadly just isn't possible

In the past when I was single, I would order the bottle of milk and it would deliver to me in the morning. The milkman would press my door bell and then left. So I regarded it as an alarm clock for me to wake up:) I don't order the milk today as I prefer to buy the milk from the supermarket or drink the milk powder at home. I love China

I never experienced having a milk delivered to my door by a milkman. We don't have delivery milkman in my country. But we do have a delivery guy that delivers everything you ask from the supermarket. So he can deliver vegetables, fish, fruits, coffees and others (including fresh milk) to our door.

It is a very long time since I last had milk delivered to the door, so long that I had forgotten about the practice. It may be convenient to have milk delivred, but due to the inconsistant amount that I use it would not really be practical. If I use it in coffee only a pint can last for a few days, whereas other times I could use several pints in a day for porridge or other foods. This makes it more practical to buy sterilised milk which keeps a lot better.

Hi. Annie18. I have never seen a milkman deliver milk to our home at all. We have always bought our milk from the grocery store. I know that milk was delivered back in the time of when my grandmother was a young child. I am sure that she probably remembers having milk delivered to her home as she was younger. You all seemed to have a good bit of milk that was delivered though.

I have heard in the past about a milkman delivering milk to your door, and as far as I know there isnt many places where that still happens,I think it would be really cool if they went back to having a milkman deliver fresh milk every morning.
