Just when I thought my xbox could roll with me for at least a year until I had enough for a 360, it F**ks up on me...There I was, playing NFS Carbon and then all of a sudden I hear crackles, and a smell of burning plastic in the back of the xbox, and the screen went out.Tried to turn it back on, but to no avail...What should I do with it now? Throw it away or try to trade it in to gamestop???

If it's damaged to the point of not working I'm not sure a game store would actually let you trade it in, but you never know.
I think it's a conspiracy. My old Xbox recently, for no reason, red ringed. I didn't even know the old systems -could- red ring, but it did, and now won't even start. It just shows me this little error message when I turn it on that tells me that it needs service.

I just saw this is 2 months old. I guess you already know if they'll let you trade it.

well, is obvious there is no use to it now =[
however, i think it would be wise to trade it in at gamestop or another gaming store, even if its a measly 2 dollars, its better than nothing.
Also, you could try talking to some technicians, calling Microsoft, or even asking at the gaming store if the damage could be repaired. you never know.
Good luck. =]
