Since reading the Harry Potter novels, I've been at a lost for things to read. I've read books, but none have really touched me like the Harry Potter books. Is anyone else feeling the same way? What books have you found to take the place of the Potter series?

I'm with you wrld_n_harmony, withdrawals all around. But, in addition to the Harry Potter series, my boys and I have liked the Artemis Fowl series. Not as well, but they filled the gaps in between HP books. But don't just read the first one, the second and third are actually better. We also enjoyed Ender's Game and others in that series by Orson Scott Card. These are for a little older audience though - teen to adult. Hope this helps. Happy reading.

OOH! I think I have your answer. If you liked Harry Potter you might like this book called Eragon. My son actually liked it better. It's very long so it will take up some time for you as well.
I can't remember the name of the author but I do know that it was a teenage, homeschooled boy that wrote it. The book was amazing, the movie a little disappointing.
And I know there is going to be a second and third book, though I am not sure if either is out yet.

Actually, I've already read Eragon and Elder, and I'm eagerly awaiting the 3rd and 4th books in the series! Yes, very good books, but I agree, the movie pretty much sucked.

I think it's the 3rd in the series about these that I have here called, "Eldest". I have yet to read it. The author is Paolini on the binding, if that helps.

Yes, I have been, but with no real reading time available to me, I guess I'll have to suffer. I am looking forward to the next movie installment of HP.
