Do our military men and women have a vote?

Do our military men and women have a vote? They sit by silently and never say a world about who they think our next President should be. They are defending our freedom everyday in Afganistan, Iraq, North Korea, and other places but, we never get to here what the military has to say. I have heard some of them say that Governmental politics plays a big part of why we are not winning in Iraq. No wonder look at how the Democrats do not want to fund our children why they defend us on foreign seas. I will be able to sleep better at night, if I know that the President of the United States has fought for this country in the past. I do not know, how I will sleep if I know that my son life is in the hands of Barack O'Bama. Everyone that is born and raised in America should imagine having a son or daughter in the military today. Could you lay your head down at night and sleep, if you do not vote for John McCain in November. We must protect our children and our country. If you are an American and you have a son, think about your own son being in Iraq right now. Now, you know how the militaries families feel. We want our children to be protected by someone who has been in the trenches and served his country. Someone who care about this country and someone who listens to the Commanders and Chiefs of the armed forces.

They get to vote but we don't get to hear their opinions much because the media is more concerned about chasing stories about celebrities and telling us what the weather was like. I try not to let a day go by without thinking about our troops all over the world. The enemy we are fighting isn't only in Iraq and Afghanistan, it's waiting to strike at any of our bases, including if you recall Fort Dix, right here in America. Our children are not safe anywhere I'm afraid.

The military gets to vote. They do it by absently ballot. They are, however, prohibited from speaking about politics when in uniform. That is because they are sworn to defend the Constitution, not any single person or any political party. There have been presidents in the past who never served in the military. Abe Lincoln was one. He saw us through our darkest hour. Reconciliation after the war would have gone smoother under him too, if he had not been assassinated. One minor point, the President is the sole Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. The Joint Chiefs of Staff report to him. No matter who is the C-in-C, the Joint Chiefs make sure our men and women in uniform are looked out for. Notice how they kept Clinton from being too overly stupid with the military.

I am in the Air Force as a fire fighter and we do get to vote. It's an honor to do so. You just don't hear about it much cause there's personal things that just can't be said.
