I will miss Stanley Kamel, as Dr Kroger, but we all know Monk will need a shrink. He will be played by the very talented Hector Elizondo. Hector was recently on Cane, which is a show on another network. He will be on the July 18th season premiere of Monk.
Do you like the choice made by the USA Network? Will he be the one to change Monk? I'm sure its going to take some time for us to deal with this change just as it will Monk.

I like Hector Elizondo in just about anything he does. I will be interested to see how he and Tony Shalhoub play off each other. I just saw a repeat of an episode of Stan Tucci on the show - he played an actor playing Monk. When you get a really good actor on the show, it makes a very good show. Here's hoping the chemistry works and we enjoy these two.

I really enjoyed the episode you mentioned. Monk does have excellent guest stars and Hector will be a great addition to the cast. Thanks for the reply.

Hector Elizondo is one of my favorite actors. He sounds like a good replacement for the late, great Stanley Kamel. I think USA network made an awesome choice. He will be a welcomed addition to one of the best shows on tv. My husband and I have been wondering who they would pick and how long it would take. Thanks for the info.
Sincerely in Christ,

This will definitely be a change for all Monk fans. I am still seeing Elizondo in "Princess Diaries" and have not yet made the switch to Monk's shrink. But I love the actor and have seen him in many roles, so I feel certain he will be adaptable. We are looking forward to the new season - Since summer is a busy time, we record for watching when we can enjoy to the fullest.

We're way behind with Monk in the UK so it will be a while before we get to the new doctor. I haven't heard of the actor but it will be strange to have a new doctor for Monk. How will he cope with the change it will be interesting to find out.

It will be interesting to see how Hector joins the cast. Monk will certainly have trouble adjusting like me. Thanks for the reply.

I like watching the show Monk on USA network and it is sad that Stanley Kamel will no longer be playing as Dr Kroger,I have heard good things about Hector Elizondo and I think he will make a good replacement, and It will be a little difficult to get used to but,I think it will be okay in the end,and you never know he might be the one to change Monk, and it would be cool if he did,I cant wait to see how the show plays out with the new shrink.

I really miss Stanley use to talk with him online about the show. Hector is a great actor and I'm sure in time I'll love the new character. He could end up changing Monk, but hopefully not drastically. Thanks for the reply.
