I had. I belong to a local forum for few years. So I joined a few topics there and get kind of hooked specially in he book section cause I love to read. I met some people there who also book lovers. So we decided to meet and loan each other books that we had and the other had not read yet.
We started this activities 4 years ago and it still going on. Usually we met in cafe and started to discuss about the book we read and many times of course we talked about our life too. Although now we only met 4-5 times a year. One of us had 2 babies now so its hard for her to manage some free time.
But I havent had the chance to met people from other countries that I met online. How about you? Have you met people you met everyday online into real world?

I also joined one forum 2 years ago and meet a girl from the same city though that time (till now) I am working in Saudi Arabia, and she's living in Germany.
We had the chance to meet when we both go on vacation at the same time and I was really happy to know her. She and her husband became our family's friend. She gave me a cap and chocolates to my kids. So nice to meet online friends.
I hope to meet more soon...

Yes, I've met people I've chatted with online. They actually became my closest friends for real. Before we would not let a day pass without going out to dinner or having coffee. Now that most of them have migrated to the States, we still try to meet up once a month.

Sort of.
I met a guy 4 years ago on MySpace. (ha) and I ended up meeting him one day in real life. It was really scary, but he turned out to be my first love. We hung out a lot and ALWAYS went to the movies, it was like 'our thing' every friday night we would go to the movies, nothing before, nothing after.. Till we started to really date. Then we'd go for dinner or he'd come over. It was a lot of fun. :) We were together for like 6 months but then we ended it on mutual terms 'cause he was growing up a lot and trying to really move on with life.
He's the only person though that I've met online that I still keep in good touch with. :) He was originally from Columbia but his family moved here when he was starting highschool. Good times, I miss them.

When i was much younger i met a lot of people i talked to on the internet in person. . I used to be on IRC and lived in halifax and was in #halifax almost everyday... whenever they had a gathering at a place that wasnt age restriced i'd go with some friends. . never alone. Also, i SORT of met my hubby online. I knew his brother first, offline. . and then found out he had a brother (my now hubby) and he lived in a different province so we spoke online first, then he flew to meet me and visit with his family and we have not been apart much since.

I belong to a Multiple Sclerosis group forum and I have met two people from that. My boyfriend/husband and I started chatting in this group forum about 9 years ago. We finally got together 4 1/2 years ago. With both of us having MS, it's kinda easy to be each others's support system. We have also met the lady who started this group support forum last year.

No,not yet. but i want to have such experience so much. i belong to a forum for a year. and they sometimes orgnize some activities such as traveling and picnic. last time they go to the arboretum in Hangzhou. in the forum there is a good atmosphere: each one who takes part in the activity always write some personal impression about this party on the forum as homework. the words sound very interesting. i don't want to fall asleep at the switch next time.

I have met up with one person. I had a friend that I knew offline from school and she was in the same social circles as me online and she wanted to meet someone from a forum, so when this person came up here, I met up with her one day too.

I was around in high school when the internet wasn't even the net it is today. We used to call BBS (bulletin board systems). We even had some meets, so yes, I met alot of people on the BBSs. Most of them have gone away on their own but I still enjoyed the BBS format because it was more local than it is now. But the net has made it so you can meet people from all over the world that you may never have med.

I met a guy on pogo just over 4yrs ago and we started chatting on pogo first. Then moved to yahoo. While chatting on yahoo we learned alot about each other and realised that we had alot in common. He introduced me to another chat site IMVU. We exchanged phone numbers and became the best of friends. Well he hit rock bottom and I told him he could come and stay with me and my husband. Well he is now living with us and is my bestfriend.

Yes! I used to play Literati on Yahoo (a version of the word game, Scrabble). Whilst you play, you can also chat and I met many nice and lively people there. Since many of the people I met lived not too far from each other, we decided to set up a weekend meeting. It was brilliant fun (we didn't get to play Scrabble, LOL) and we got to know each other better, which made for much more fun when we played online again.
Meeting online friends doesn't have to be about 'romance'!!!

I belong to a guitar forum that I joined ten years ago! We get together and play guitar and talk and have a good time. We have members from all over the U.S. (my country) and other countries. Sometimes the people from other countries visit the U.S. for business or on vacation and other members take them into their homes while they're here. We've watched each others' children grow up, be born, cheered for marriages and helped each other through divorces.

I play MU Online and through that game, I have made new friends and met some of them in person. There was a time when some of them would play in our computer shop. There was also a time when the whole guild met to defend the castle, which is an MU Online thing that I will not bore you about.
