Life's a beach.

I live in the shoreline area of Connecticut, USA.
Yesterday afternoon the sun came out around 12:30 p.m. after a couple days of gloomy weather. We were tired of being stuck in the house so we decided to take our daughter to the beach to look for shells and fly her new Dora the Explorer Kite.
It was the perfect afternoon. We packed a blanket, a snack, and brought some buckets to collect our shells. We spent 2 hours there before a light wind started up and made the air a bit too chilly.
As I was sitting there watching the waves I thought to myself how I could never imagine not living near the ocean. And that many people go their entire lives without ever seeing the ocean! The USA is large and most states do not border the oceans and many people never travel to a state that does.
Are you one of those people who have never seen the ocean?
Or are you like me and couldn't imagine not living close to the shoreline?
Please share.
Thank you.
