How can some comedians say simple things that make you laugh?

hm!really the simple things are really the funniest things so it may be that he has become a favourite of yours so you naturally will laugh at his jokes.

to be a comedian is a gift as well as a skill, they both have to go hand in hand, naturally (gift) some people are funny and they really don't try to be, the same thing said by somebody else would not be funny at all. then there are people who try to be funny and they are not. the comedians have to be very good at at least one of these things. And no I don't think it is because you expect he will be funny because I am sure you have come across many comedians that you thought were lousy, we all have.

I really love stand up comedy, but only the ones that don't have to make every other word profanity. Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall are two of my favorites.

Hi! I dont really know who Steven Wright is but I like Jerry Seinfeld. I like that he turns simple adn ordinary things into funny things with the help of the imagination. By the sample quote that you gave, I mght like him too. That simple bit is really funny.LOL!And yet its simple enough that you jsut might thought of it yourself. I like jokes like that because everybody can relate to it and so everybody will laugh at it. I guess comedians can make us laugh with simple statements because of the way they present it. With a punchline of course and that punchline should be totally unexpected and yet so obvious that people just laugh at it because they hadnt thought of it before or hadnt looked at it that way before and realize that what this guy is saying is actually quite true. I guess we can never really tell what make comedians tick. But we do know that they make us laugh. and thats good enough for me.^_^

HI raydene thats so funny and cute. he does it with really simple things too which is amazing. If I tried to make a joke like that it would fall flat on its bottom. I just have no sense of timing at all. My husband used to be able to make me laugh with the simplest of jokes but he had timing down to a t.
