Hi,
Zoster is not seen much in children and young adults but there are exceptions to every rule.It is seen in younger patients with AIDS, lymphoma, other malignancies, and other immune deficiencies, and also in patients who have had bone marrow and kidney transplants. In addition, these patients are at greater risk of developing zoster regardless of age.
This query has come in a month ago. How is your son now? Is he cured?

I am sorry to hear that your son has Herpes.
Herpez and chicken pox are caused by the same virus.
Only a nerve path is involved?
The treatment is mostly with acyclovir and pain relievers.
Ensure continuous pain control.
Wish him a speedy recovery.
