We all aware of ongoing food crisis, the situation is really scary if we think about future. God knows, may be one day we have to spend thousands of dollars for one lb vegetables. But every body can do something to improve the situation, no matter how small the effort is; It will make a difference in long run.
Personally I always try not to waste food and energy. I make a menu for the week and according to that I buy food, so that food does not get spoiled. When I go to a buffet, I don’t like to waste food like most of the people do. I take only what I can eat. Don’t buy a lot of veggies or fruits because it is in sale, buy only whatever you need.
What do you say about this problem? Are you taking some steps regarding this issue? Please share your thoughts. Thanks to everyone in advance.

That's also true that what will come will come. But at least we can take the precaution if we think about it and do what ever we can do. And yes, there is always light at the end of the tunnel!

Yes you are right. Inflation has increased a lot. Peoples buring power is being decreased day by day.
Most of the people, now a days, are struggling to earn just to eat. May Allah (GOD) bless us. Now a days, except for a very tiny percentage of people, every body is indulged in activities which religions do not allow. Thats why God is angry and He is testing the mankind by imposing different trials for the people. If every body cares for others, nothing wrong wud be happened in this world.

Yes, people don't bother to think about others, they even don't think about the consequences of their deeds. Everything looks hard in future. But there is always hope.

I, too, try to get only what I need. I might spend a bit more & get more if something I regularly use is on sale, particularly if it is something that will stay fresh for a long time. Overall, it does save money. What also helps is I don't leave the house just to go food shopping. Luckily for me, the food stores I shop at are on the way to & from places I need to go to, & I stop on the way home. That also saves a bit of time & energy, particularly from not having to take the time for the extra travel & gasoline.
I have also heard that some people have actually turned parts of their back yards into vegetable gardens. That also helps save overall.
I believe that the price of food ended up rising because of the rising prices in fuel. It would end up costing more to transport the foods from the farm, bakeries, processing plants, etc to the stores, as well as the energy used to process the foods that need processing. Being that these things cost more, it causes the prices to go up.

You are right, it is always helpful to buy things on sale which last long. Like you I also make sure that I can buy groceries in the way to home, from somewhere I go. It is not very smart to waste gas only to go to buy grocery, if you are going out of home for other work. If you are totally at home, then it's different.
Thanks for your comment KrazyKlingon.
