NAPPING: Do you have time for that?

They say that napping is good for you. Like a cellphone or an iPod, napping is like charging your body with new energy. It relaxes you and make you ready to work again.
Since I am a stay at home wife, I have all the time in the world to take a nap. But then, no, I have so many chores at home and my time here at myLot is not enough so I don't get nap at all. But when I do get one, when I get lucky, I really feel refreshed and recharged again.
So do you have time to take a nap? Or you wish you have the time for a nap?

I guess so. That is why I don't over nap. An hour is enough for me to get recharged.

Normally I don't, unless I get one in on the weekend, I usually work 10am - 6pm. However, I am on medical leave due to an injury that happened at work, I've been off 2 weeks, and having just seen the doctor again yesterday, will be off until at least the 19th of May. So, I do have time for a nap, and 3 days out of the week, I really don't have a choice, since I go to therapy, and normally take a pain pill after I get home on those days. It's starting to get to me know, not being able to work, but I try to keep myself busy (hard to do one handed, left wrist is in a splint) doing what I can around the house, spend sometime outside when the weather is nice. And now he has ordered an MRI for this Friday morning.

Oh Im sorry to hear that. I hope you are doing and feeling ok now. On the brighter side, you get a change to catch up on your sleep because you are not working. But I still hope that you will be alright soon. Take care. And get well soon.

Many times I want to take a nap when it's quiet, but that's when the children are at school and I hate to waste that quiet time when I can get other things done! Sometimes I have to give in to my body's cravings for a little snooze time, but I prefer to do it while pretending to watch TV with the kids. They have me with them and I can close my eyes for 10 or 20 minutes without them noticing.
I think that everyone should work in a nap a few days a week, for health and relaxation. But even if you are at home all day, the temptation to keep going and accomplish all you can often overrules your desire for dreamland.

I can also doze off while watching TV. I agree with you, when kids are in school, the world is peaceful. That is the best time for napping, but then, you will also think about chores. Tough choice huh.

since I have been sick for the last 10 years, I have had to take naps, and now I take naps at any hour. I get tired easily but I do not sleep regular hours.

When I arrived here and jobless, just a plain housewife, I have all the time to take a nap everyday! Makes me feel relaxed and beautiful! LOL, but since I started to become active in mylot and now that I am having my garden, I don't have time to close my eyes! LOL,but no regrets, I love my routine though!

I agree with you. I was lucky when I was still working as a teacher, I have 2hours break in the afternoon and I would use that for napping.

I do and I don't. I do wish I had time to take a nap because I could use one. I don't sleep well at night usually so, there are days where I am just exhausted and all I want to do is lie down and catch a few ZZZZZZ's. But, on the rare occasions when I have been able to take a nap, I wake up feeling worse than I did before I went down for the nap. My head is all heavy and foggy and I just want to continue to sleep. I don't feel refreshed. I feel even more tired than I did and I have less energy and feel less motivated. So, while I wish I could nap, it is best that I can't and better that I don't.

Oh is that so? Well, is the other way around with me. I really feel that I was like a cellphone, one hour of charging makes me feel good as new.

i would love to have the time to take a nap since i really do not sleep well at night but i have a busy schedule and i do not have the luxury of a nap. i remember when my son was very little though and when he used to take a nap in the afternoon many times i would lay down and sleep with him. i had gotten used to taking naps when i was home on disability during my pregnancy and i continued taking naps with him until he stopped taking them at about age 2 or so. at first i really missed the naps as my body had gotten used to them but then i adjusted to being up all day every day.

I agree with you. My friend would do that too with her kid. She said it's the only time that she also could get a good sleep.

I wish I did have time to have naps!! If I ever do doze off on the sofa it tends to be at the end of an evening and then I wake up all groggy but generally I never have time to nap during the day as I'm always working!! Ahh would be nice though! x

I rarely have time for a nap but lately Ive taken two. My first nap was in the car going home from surfing (about 30 minutes of sleep) and my second nap was during my AP test (standardized test). I finished the test 30 minutes early (because I am fluent in the language i am tested on) and I was really sleepy so I put my head on the table and ended up by sleeping.

I can see that you don't have problems getting a sleep. Good for you, not everybody does. I just hope you don't fall asleep while you are driving.

I really wish a had the time to take some naps. I would prefer to take morning naps because health practitioners advise it instead of taking some afternoon naps because it will lead you to a point wherein you will be having a difficulty falling asleep at night. Your body need to replenish so that it could go on functioning. It is vital that we give ourselves some time to take some rest so that we will not suffer some serious illness due to some aspects that inhibits you to have enough rest. I would really love some soon but for now I am focused on my hospital duty still. Have a great time.

I agree, napping in the morning is good and napping in the afternoon will just ruin your sleeping time at night. Thanks for sharing.
