What do you do to make yourself happy? Cheer yourself up? Make your family happy? Me, I spend quality time with my 2 little boys and my husband - that makes me happy and my family happy because my husband isn't home much at certain times of the year due to work. I also look after myself - eat well and exercise as I have found that that makes me happy which in turn makes my family happy. I also like to sit and read, talk to a friend on the phone, or jump on the net and chat to friends.

When my children were young we did many things together as a family it was fun and the kids loved it .I came from an abusive home and i made certain my children never experienced anything like i did. We would go for drived through the bush ( we live in outback New South Wales Australia and we were free to roam anywhere .These drives were amazing we would drive for hours just around our town ,stopping to look at anything that the kids saw or found interesting. At home we would play an arrangement of games to suit all agea as i had five children .Lots of fun and lafter was had by one and all .There never seemed to be enough time just to sit and read or even find time for my things but thats was fine my family was happy then so was i . As the children grew into adults we continued by having the most fantastic holidays ever .In Australia as we could never see enough of this awesome land.We still play the occassional game or go for walks. It`s funny as the years pass and the family spread keeping happy has become so really hard .I find lonelyness creeping in more and more My hubby is still here with me and as two of my children these days i have chosen to care for working mothers children so there is always plenty of fun and laughter still . I do not read as much as i use to but when i find a good book it`s hard putting it down . Just last weekend we competed in the Relay for Life and fund raiser for cancer both my hubby and youngest son aged sixteen competed with me over the 18 hours we all had a great time and many laughs were had by one and all.

Your life sounds much like ours - we live in a rural area on a property on the border of SA and Victoria & it joins the Little Desert National Park. We take drives through there and stop for the children to look at things. It is so much fun & I love the time we spend together. We only have 2 children (boys under 3) but it's still hard to find the time to read a book & I miss that sometimes but nothing is better than watching your family happy & having fun & joining them!

When I lose the charge in my batteries,I usually try to recharge them by going fishing (the peace and serenity) or watching children(the enthusiasm and energy). It sounds like you have a very healthy relationship within your family and they are your support.I would like to welcome you to MyLot and wish you great success here and in life.

Ah I love fishing too - so does my hubby - unfortunatly there isn't many places to fish here these days as the droughts have dried up the lakes I fished in with my dad as a child. The ocean is a minimum of 1 1/2 hours away so we don't get there often either. I also love to go yabbying - but that is a rare thing these days too with the dry dams, lakes and swamps. Our family has a very healthy relationship & love to do things together - the kids are both under 3 so it's easier for now, LOL!

This is when I say I must live very close to-if not in-paradise.I am a 10 minute walk from the ocean and have 8 or 10 lakes with fish in them within 10 miles of my home.I look right and see the coastline with the fabulour mountain range.I look left to see the mountain beckoning me every morning(another 10 minute drive to reach the trails of it).Sure is tough living on Vancouver Island!

Good for you! I usually either talk to my kids.....IM them or work on one of my crafts like painting or stamping greeting cards. I put on the music and just relax while enjoying doing something I love...

I will get back to all the things I used to do when the kids go to school I guess, but at the moment everything revolves around them & that's ok with me cause it makes me happy & them too. :)

It depends somethimes reading a book or magazine will lift my spirits, somethimes a nice walk. talking to my husband or to a friends or member of my family. I also like to play with my son and get to his level (he is 5) and forget how old I am and what problems I have. Like the other day. we have a huge peach tree and almost all its leaves fell off so me and my son put them in a huge pile and played for hours I cant remember when was the last time I had such fun and so did my son. And music I love music so I have music on almost every day and we sing and dance that makes me happy.

I will walk in the field. You can feel the nature great! Sometime I like to read a book on balcony window and listen some light music.

A nice walk is always a good thing isn't it - and when I have time to read a book it's fantastic!
