Well, while that is your opinion, and I appreciate all views, I must disagree.
Personally, I like both, I find long hair on guys to be hot, I have been attracted to guys with short spikey hair, but long hair, I have just always been attracted to.
We are ALL entitled to our own opinions, but I really feel we must be more tactful in expressing those opinions! You are insulting a majority of guys these days by saying they are "sisses" and that is a childish insult. It's one thing to say "I think it's wrong, or looks bad" but to make a general statement about sexuality it wrong!
I mean, personally, I'm not attracted to guys who shave their heads, but I'm also not about to be like "oh, since I don't like the look, all guys who shave their head are ugly", because that would be mean, and really, I don't care what people do.
You really should just concern yourself with your own business, because long hair and piercings on guys aren't gonna go away because YOU or anyone else doesn't like it.
I appreciate your right to an opinion on this and any matter, but I don't appreciate your rudeness, and to me, rude doesn't look good or come off good.
The word is acceptance... learn it.
Acceptance, because there are many things we come across in this world, and we are going to disgree with many of those things, therefore, we must learn tact and politeness.
Thank You, I just had to get that off my chest. (see, I even said thank you. LOL)

hi greysfreak, i actually just came from reading the discussion you posted about responding to this discussion......but i didn't want to post there because this has to do with this discussion.
although i don't still wear an earing, i can still put one in if i wanted to (my hole never closes) but my hair is down past the middle of my back as it has been for over 30 years,
oh sure i've cut it for certain jobs, but you know what??? i don't work at those jobs any more and i'm the same person with my hair long or short. i just prefer it long.
i'm not trying to make a fashion statement or anything........that's just me. it always has been and it probably always will be.
anyways back to the point of this discussion, i'm just wondering, did you check out the person that started this discussions profile?
cuz if you did you would see that they're from China.....nothing against China but i don't think long haired pierced guys are as popular there as they are here in the U.S.
so i don't think it's just a difference of opinion, i think it might also have something to do with a difference of culture.
anyways, that's my 2 cents.
have a great one.

I love how it looks. It doesn't look good on every guy. Some just don't carry it off well. Some do.My husband has a double piercings on one ear and I really, really like it on him. As far as long hair, the same thing. Some men look good with it, some don't. I like either way. The man himself makes the man, not his ears or his hair. You don't like it. That is fine. That is your own personal taste. That is why we have so much variety in the world, something for everybody.

I don't like earings at all on anybody really. I had my ears pierced when I was a kid because my aunt wanted me to have them & I kind of gave into the peer pressure of my cousins and friends having earings. Well, after about 2-3 years of all the hassle (my ears were super sensitive so I had to clean them regularly and only wear certain types of metal) I decided to heck with it and stopped wearing them. The holes are still in my ears but it's been a long time since I've worn them.
I don't think guys look good with them, but if they want them that's their personal preference so I wouldn't make fun of them or get mad about it or anything. I don't really like long hair on a guy or tattoos either!

I do have a long hair but no earings... I have enough holes on my body naturally, thank you... lol... At one point, my hair was down past my butt & near back of my legs... I don't have it that long anymore but I guess it's really a personal thing... I work at retail store & I get a lot of different comments about the length of my hair... Back then, one woman actually wanted to touch it & told me how much she liked it, then another complete stranger suggested I should get a hair cut... I guess everybody's preferance is different... I don't understand about men & their earings, though...

You are right saying 'I think', we are discussing a personal opinion here.
I like men with long hair a lot, and I like earrings and piercings as well. It depends on the kind of man that is wearring them, and I personally like it better when they either have just one earring or a whole bunch of them, but not two like a woman usually has. I like rings better as studs too.

I haven't taken a look at your pics yet, but you sure make some very valid points there. That's one hell of a reply you made, especially for someone who has had 9 different discussions they added to so far. I wish all new mylotters would make this kind of responses with lots of legimit points and a very descriptive point of few. Are you adding an avatar soon? That way it will be easier to track your posts on mylot as there are many people with the 'green faces'.
Pro wrestlers look far from girly, I totally agree on that. The CBR thing can look very nice, I think it's a more masculine things. I've seen girls with them, if they think it's pretty they have every right to wear them, but I personally think they look nicer on guys. I guess I have the same point of few, they are less thin and feminine and more, err.. robust? (hope that's the right word).

it was never ever about fashion or trying to look cool for me.
i just all of a sudded had a powerfull urge to feel what it was like.
seeing woman throughout my life all jolly with they're big dangly hoop earrings just enchanted me eventually to the point where i seriously desired to feel what it was like.like i allready said though.it wasnt about fashion or trying to look cool.i knew that it'd be a different look but that was not what drove me to it.it was all about sensing that i would love the feel of them swinging in my earlobes.i had this deep down inner feeling that they would make me feel jolly and full of good vibes,so i went with the urge and after awhile,i stretched the holes on both earlobes and now,i wear these thick upside down U shaped rings with metal balls on the bottoms of each side.one of them unfastens and that's how you either put em on or take em off.some days i feel the urge and other days i dont.it's all about enjoying the feel, not about trying to make some sort of impression with the look.

i just all of a sudden had a powerfull urge to feel what it was like to Don Blissfull endowing heavy earrings to blissfully dangle from both lobes.because i strongly sensed that i'd Really Enjoy the Feeling and I most certainly Did!
Sorry if i am this way but i simply cannot help it if i had this intuition built inside of me.maybe perhaps i am some sort of reincarnated pirate or other ancient times guy that donned and enjoyed the liberating feel of the heavy rings dangling blissfully from the errogenous earlobes, enabling a steady feeling of bliss, harmony and enlightenment.

doesn't bother me,unless it's truly gaudy/big.
it kind of detracts from their looks if it's too overpowering.i have some male relatives that wear a stud earring or so,it's no big to me.

I think if anyone does anything that they want to themselves, so long as it doesn't hurt anyone, I'm happy.
I don't stereotype or assume that someone is a certain way because of their appearance or characteristics.
I like piercings personally, and I have a number of them - I also like them on other people, but it's a matter of choice - I respect that some people don't want them, and I don't think people look better/worse or are better/worse people because of it.
As long as someone's personality and vibe is good, they can look and do as they please =)

I am not bothered about boys wearing earrings it does not bother me. I do not like boys with really long hair, but that does not mean that it has to be a short back and sides. I like something between that can be styled.

Well when I was younger i always thought that guys with earrings might have been gay. And even if that guy wasn't i did not want date him. But now i have a bf who has earrings in both ears, at first i hated them, but now it doesn't bother me.

me too, as far as i know, all accessories are a historic symbol of ownership. in the ancient time, men were forced to wear earrings and bracelet to be someone's slave

To be honest, men with earrings just doesn't do it for me. I find the effect effeminate and well, just not manly. I know it is supposed to make them look cool, but for me it does the exact opposite. I find them very declasse'.
I guess, I'm a product of my generation, where a man is a man if he does not wear female jewelry. LOL...

This thread is hilarious!!...I Love It!!
SOOOO many "close minded militant mentality people" here!...LOL.
What about the Music Industry?...Dont any of you stay updated with Modern Music and All these band members who Don stuff like earrings, tatoos and longhair...?! This is a very common mainstream normal way for a guy in a band to look.even if you're just a roadie for a band or even just bigtime into heavy metal or hard rock.
it's very much an acceptable way to look.
like i've said allready though.for myself, ultimately,it's all about the feel.i've read on various message boards that most woman love the feel of they're earrings.they feel empowered, happy, blissfull, etc.
Why cant a human being of the male gender experience these nice things as well? Are all men just supposed to try to look like john wayne or something?...Geeeeeez people sheeple!!!LOL.
This is 2008,not 1948!...LOL....And speaking of the 40's,how about that movie from 1947.."sinbad the sailor".
Douglass Fairbanks Jr sports big earrings in both ears for that role, yet he looks macho, masculine and dashing.
Most gay guys dont wear earrings.and they have short hair yet you can tell they're gay because of the way they talk and act.Yet,alot of big macho wrestler dudes and heavy metal guys wear earrings, have longhair, etc, yet, you can tell they are Very Manly Rugged tough macho men.Real Men! You can have short hair, nice preppy proper clothes and ZERO jewlery yet still look like a sissy boy.Alot of these types have either scrawney arms or they're flabby and wimpy.Wearing Earrings is a personal choice for ones OWN best interest...It should NOT be about what others think of you doing it!!!

I don't wear them and as far as other guys I've actually seen some pull it off without looking gay. Some look pretty cool & hip with it. Lot's of time you'll find guys in the entertainment business do this. I don't know if anyone is familiar with Montel Williams of the Montel Williams Talk Show (?) but he has an earring in each ear and nothing is gay about this dude at all, as far as I know. Also if I'm correct Michael Jordan basketball player wears one in his ear too - and he's cooler than cool. So I guess it all depends on the man and how they pull it off. I just would feel and look awkward doing it - just not me.
It's almost similar to a man wearing pink. Some say that's a woman's color but some men actually pull it off without coming across the least bit gay. Everyone is an individual and definitely have a right to be themselves and express their own unique style ~ to each his own.

I just don't understand why they wear them. They are typically a female, feminine accessory..so why does a man wearing them? Plus, long hair, just above the shoulders is fine, but longer, can't understand why they want to grow it clear so long and then pull it into a ponytail all the time. What is the point of long hair if you always pull it into a ponytail!

Cool? Guess I am behind the times. I don't see "cool" in a man with an earring. Sorry, they are for females only IMO.

I have the same thinking with you, I like a man who has short hair, cleaned face, sportmanship, no smoking, no gambling, family care, no drunk, etc.
