Could you please ponder deeper and evaluate, when you are at peace and may be sitting idle - "Who you are"? You have to think about it and ask yourself 'Who I am'? Please let me know what kind of thoughts come into your mind, when you start thinking on this 'issue'. For me, when I start thinking 'Who I am'.....I feel lost and unable to find any convincing answers. I think, the question is a bit serious one, you take your own time and come out with your responses. I would love to read your chain of thoughts. Thanks in advance.

As I said in one of my discussions earlier, I am a very simple girl with simple philosophy - 'simple living, high thinking' (Courtesy: you) I feel by being simple and by being close to earth we can do wonders.
Moreover, I am thinker and kind of think and ponder over simple things much. I am a dreamer also who never sops dreaming of ideals and what should have beens.
What about you?

OH! My goodness! You wrote Courtesy YOU!.......LOL!
It is good to know that you are a 'thinker'. A deep 'thinker' can only be a dreamer, because dreaming requires thinking.
I am not able to find an exact answer to my questions, that is why I started this discussion. But after going through replies of many learned friends here (including you) I am coming to terms and trying to explore and 'introspect' myself - who I am.
Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts with us.

Candee, with your positive comments about me, you have made me speechless, I cannot find words to express my happiness on reading your observations about me.......that too....when our friendship on mylot here is not very old.......(I think, it is few months' old only). Points 1 to 4 and 6 are quite correct, but what made you write point No.5, what made you think that I believe others easily, (I am not denying or accepting your observations.....for the time being....LOL!)
Tons of Thanks for writing such brilliant comments.
Well I can help you.

hello dpk262006,
if close my eyes and answer the question, "who am i?"
this will be basically my answer...
i am a simple person with a simple heart. a person who knows how to value all forms of life in this world. a girl whose only dream is to be happy and help others as well. a girl who have a sad past but found the happiness now. i love myself and i know how to respect the ME inside. i cry when i know someone is hurting and i laugh when someone laugh.
i love kids, animals and nature. i am a kid at heart and i love to remain the same for the rest of my life.
the person in me loves this man so much and will do everything to keep that love alive and to protect his heart.
i am person who can be kind and sweet but can be very cold as well once i am done with you, i said this coz i love myself and i will not allow anybody to take advantage of me and hurts me emotionally and physically. if i will be treated this way then i am not gonna remain there and find my own peace instead.
to end this, i am always truthful to myself. i may hide to everybody other than my self.
i hope i give you a good insight of who i am
takecare

I am impressed with your answer, you know what you are and what role you have to play in life, you could describe yourself in an effective and brilliant manner. It is nice to know that you wish to help others and other one which attracted me attention - "I will not allow anybody to take advantage of me".
You know pretty well about yourself and I hope whatever you do in your life, you would definitely succeed.
Best wishes!

When I think of who I am, I typically wind up writing poetry. :P
I am a poet, perhaps more than anything. I am a priestess of the Goddess Morrigan, and that's a pretty major part of my identity. But also, I am a human being who strives to protect others, who feels pain and joy, who exists and strives to continue to exist.

I am a deep thinker, so I ponder these kinds of things all the time.
1. I would first identify myself as a child of God. I would rather not be affiliated with any organized religion. But if I had to be, it would be Christian.
2. Secondly, I would say that I am a loving person. Because love is the most important thing in the world to me.
3. I am also friendly and understanding. I like people. I love to hear their story and find out what they are about. It is very interesting to me.
4. I can also be impatient and lazy.
5. I like to try to control a situation to evoke as little emotions from myself as possible. Whether good or bad. I am just too emotional.
6. I like to express myself. Especially though writing and know that I am being heard. I am very opinionated.
7. I love to create. Whether it is writing poetry, cooking, doing arts and crafts or whatever. I like to see what is inside of me. I also love to read.

Who am I? This is what comes to mind... I am proud, sometimes too prideful. I like a good argument or discussion, almost anytime, but get annoyed when people don't see my point of view. I am open to other's opinions and I like to hear them, and learn. I get caught up in one subject easily and for a long time, until I move onto the next. I like to teach others and I feel I have a lot to offer, but still a lot left to learn. I am an animal lover. I am a vegan. I find that this has become a huge part of my identity in a short period of time. It is the best choice I have ever made and I have never been happier or able to think more clearly. It has expanded my mind to think about things I have never even imagined both in regard to all animals, including humans. My beliefs are not so strong that I am not willing to change or alter them as I see fit along the way. I am introverted and quiet, and I feel I am underestimated because of this. That's okay with me because I like surprising people. I spend a lot of time thinking. I am sarcastic, funny, and easygoing. I am going through a process of extreme change in my life and I am excited to see who I become once it is all over.

Who am I .......?
I am a noone..
I am a mother...
I am a daughter...
I am many things but who and what am I truly...
I am a mother, lover, daughter, survivor, and a person.
I am a force to be reckon with when someone threatens me or mine.
I am a person whose thought and feelings mean little to those around her.
I am a welcome mat.
I am still trying to find my nitch in this world.
I am compassion .
I know that I love unconditionally to those who are around me and in my circle of friends. I am the person who holds this family together..
I am all and I am nothing at one time.
Who I am matters not what I do and accomplish matters not. What I am to you matters.

Oh, Deepak, its easy for me. Listen, I am a wife, who needs to be loved and protected, who is extremely jealous, who is crazy about the family, loves nature and all children of the world, a mother who yearns for success of her kids, a daughter who loves her parents and in-laws, a neighbour who cares for her neighbourhood, a friend who has a very strong shoulder for her friends and a career woman who is extremely busy at the moment!

Great discussion! I'm a very complex person.
But most of time nowadays, I am a mother....and that's the person I am most of the time. Everything else takes a backseat.
But generally, I am someone who likes to stand apart from the crowd (not necessarily be the centre of attraction). I am different and thrive to be so. I am very adaptable to situations...though I do like routine. There are very few things I am stubborn about...and only if I really really know that's the right thing for me.
I am a very independant person. Don't like taking help unless I can pay back in kind.
Faith and religion are no issues...because I have my own ideas which are applicable to me alone. As long as I am not harming anyone..and I live by my principles and values, I am fine.
I am first and foremost (like I said) a mother...and have these traits that I have mentioned. There are lot more...but I don't think I can compress it to one page...lol

SV, I feel 'introspection' is the key to understand ourselves. The more we introspect, more we know about ourselves. And if wer are able to know about ourselves, we can understand others too.

it is really a tough call a si guess.
Who am I? am I someone who likes to dream and try to reach those draems?
Or Am I so unimportant in this great world?
Or am I so much important to my family?
Or Am I someone who does not think so much about herself?
still it makes me wonder who am i?

It is true like what palonghorn said, we are all part of the universe. Each of us have a place and role in where we are. It need not be significant, it need not be specific, as long as we play our role for what we are, it is good enough. I like to believe I have contributed to the colors of the universe by being myself.

well said why, I like your answer. I think the answer she is searching seems to be for all of us to say that we are just an ant in this huge universe, or a religious based answer. I know who I am, and I'm happy with it also.

I am a very independent woman, I'm a mother of two beautiful daughters, I am a wildland firefighter, I am the s/o of an amazing man, but I also know that I can make it on my own as well. I am a daughter, and still daddy's little girl after all these years. I am a younger sister, who is best friends with my big sister. I am a person that has accomplished a lot in my life so far, and I am a woman that is not afraid to speak my mind, but know when it is best to not say anything.

Hello deepak! I was in the stage where I don't know who I am and still looking for an answer. I guess all of us will pass that stage especially during our teen years. But now that I am married, I can clearly see a little bit who I am. I am a sweet person. I am not afraid to show to my husband how much I love him. I am a possessive type of person. I easily got jealous. I am simple. I appreciate all the simple things a person will give to me. Well, enough for now. One thing I know, I am a good person...lol!

Hello! Aisa!
Once again you searched an old discussion of mine and I lost in the responses, because some were really great, before I could comment on yours.
So you are still trying to 'explore' yourself and trying to find out 'Who you are'. Undoubtedly, you are a simple, sweet and very nice person. When you say that you are possessive type, I may add that most of us are possessive and do feel jealous on some of the occasions.
Thanks very much for sharing and enriching an old post.

Hi dear..
I'll write here what I have written in all other forums where this question is asked:
- Which way I fly is hell; myself I am hell, and in the lowest deep a lower deep still threatening to devour me opens wide, to which the hell I suffer seams a heaven...
- And as Eminem says "I am whatever you say I am, if I wasn't then why would I say I am"
Hope you know me better now :p

Hi dpk262006! I did sit back after reading your post. I was kinda taken aback with the question as I am pondering it. I have always responded in all discussions honestly. Now, I feel so lost on how I will answer this question. Who am I? Just like you, I am now lost and I don't know what to say. All I know is that I am not the person I used to be. I am not the free spirited girl who loves life and has been a trusting soul. I think I am still searching who am I but one thing for sure, I know who I am not. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

Who am I? It is easier to wonder than to know the answer to that question. Does anyone really know? We would like to think that we do and some of us stoutly and loudly say that they know who they are. Maybe they know who they would like to be, the persona that they wished they were but to really know who they are would be akin to saying, this is what I am going to do one minute from now and this is where I am going to be one week from today. Do we really know the demons that drive us?

"who am i? you sure you wanna know? i'm spider woman" lol
i'm a college student who's got an elder that was abusing me verbally telling me that he's gonna kill me and telling me i'm a son of a b!tch if he doesn't like the way i'm responding on him. he also told me that i shouldn't go home if i don't want to get hurt. jeez what a gay he only know how to pick a fight on some people that he knows that won't fight him back. sometimes i'm asking myself and nearly cries because i don't see any thing that i'm doing wrong with him. he's the kind of person that wants to be respected but he doesn't respect other people. also, he never appreciates some of the good things that you do to him. i want to finish my studies sooner so that i can leave this place and so that i can have a peaceful life.
if you know what attitude i have, i'm a quiet and shy type of person but if we get along well with each other you can see my cheerful and funny side and that's what i am to my bf right now

Who am I? This is really a tough question but I used to encounter this question at school and sometimes when you are taking a test as pre-requisite for employment.
Anyway just a short response for this question. Who am I? Someone created in the likeness of God, someone sent to the world with a purpose, by which at my age, partly I was able to do it as God wants me to do.
I am a person responsible for my family and friends. So little sacrifices I will endure just to be able to provide my family with their needs. A man of faith and a man who loves and support peace which begins in my own simple home and to the world as a whole.
