My dad wounded his leg with a knife. What's the best medicine for the wound? Please respond if you sincerely know.

well the first thing I would say is to take him to a hospital. The severity of the cut will determine how you will want to treat it, so it is kind-of hard to give you an answer here without actually seeing the wound. If it is just a minor cut, the best thing to do is to keep a clean bandage on it and maybe put some neosporan (SP?) or some bactine or something on it. Betadine is good for cleaning it, but if it is a bad cut, it may be a little painful. Again, I think you should have him see a doctor to begin with if you think it is something that would require more than just basic first aid...

NEOSPORIN.com
sorry I spelled it wrong...it is very effective for preventing infections in minor wounds. I have used it since I was a kid...

Notice: This applies for wounds of small size only. Firstly we press the wound properly to control bleeding then we wash the wound with water. Apply some anti-septic cream and does a bandage covering the wound.Later in the day we go to a physician to have a shot of anti-septic injection. Well, does it sounds OK..

If it is a small wound just pour in betadine and it will heal. If it is big in size need to bring to a doctor and do some stiching on it so when it healed there will be no big scar.

Ok, depending on how dirty the knife was he may need antibiotics or a needle. Also depending how deep and big the wound is he may need stitches. If the knife was clean and the wound is small some antiseptic and a bandage should do the trick! Hope he heals fast!
