Has anyone tried yoga to help alleviate your MS symptoms? I just bought a yoga kit, along with a DVD. It is hard, but I think with work, it will help improve my balance. In July I'm planning to take a Yoga class at the local community centre and I wanted to get a jump start on it so I don't look quite as awkward. My sister has MS and she takes yoga at her fitness class and it seems to help her. I've been diagnosed longer than her (18 years) and have had more attacks than her, but I'm thinking, it can't hurt. I have read that it does help with MS.

I will let you know how it works for me. Right now I'm doing it at home with a DVD, but I will be taking a 5 week class in July. Should be an interesting experience. I was a klutz before MS and now, well, I'm just excelling at being a klutz.lol

I can understand where Yoga could help MS patients. I was diagnosed in 1998. My balnce is off too much to even consider doing this. But I think that the meditation part could help me alleviate the harm of what the stress causes. I just might look into that part of it. It sounds like a great idea.

My balance is not that great either. I kind of list off to the left. I tried doing it last night using the DVD that came with yoga mat. It was difficult, but not impossible. I think with time I will get better so by the time I take the yoga class in July I won't look too awkward. The meditation part of it will definitely help with stress. I'm actually hoping it will help with my balance. This is what I have read.

I come from the very land where yoga started, India. I believe in the powers it has, for everything is connected to the mind. It is the mind that controls everythin, and through yoga, we get the power to channelize all the energy. Best of luck with your yoga routine. Hope you get better and start to see life in a spiritualistic manner. Try coming to India someday for a nice spiritual awakening journey.

Thanks for the input. I hadn't focused on the spiritual part of yoga, but I appreciate your thoughts. India is a country I would like to visit someday.
