I received a letter today from one of my local Home Heating oil Delivery companies,Stating that due to the increase in Oil prices, they're no longer prepared to offer credit on sales-it's cash on delivery from now on,or prepay, regardless of your credit history with them.I'd usually pay by card when I order,anyway...I was wondering has the price of Oil changed the way your local suppliers do business, and does it affect you?
Thanks for comments!

Not me....but my friend that uses heating oil recently got a letter that raised the rent of their fuel tank so much they had them pull it and they are going with another company....it was a dollar a year and they jacked it up to over 60 bucks A MONTH! so they switched.

Yowsa! from $1 a Year to $60 a Month? that's some steep rate of inflation! How much would it cost them to buy their own tank? And how does this other company they switched to operate? Did they have to return the $60 tank and switch to another rented one? Here, the tank is usually bought and owned by the householder-When I bought this house, the tank came with it..

They contract their fuel so with the prices on the rise I think the company had to raise the rental of the tank to compensate for the higher prices....they had them take the tank out. When I was up to visit that's what they were getting ready for.....and were buying their tank from the new company they went with.

Thjis hasn't happened to me yet. I don't like to pre pay for anything, so they'll be trouble if they try and pull this with me.

Well I wonder why they are refusing to give credit, when you are paying at the time of purchse by credit cards. By the end of the day the Company can get the transaction value from the Bank. Anyway, everywhere around the worl the oil prices have increased tremendously. I guess in the oil producing region it might have increased drastically.
