I fed a couple hamster almost 1 year ago . But there are not any baby T_T Although I see the female and the male often hang on to each other ^^ I heard someone told me that my female hamster is too fat that they can't have baby ~~ Is it a reason in this case ?

I have never heard that a hamster won't have babies because they are too fat. I'm not sure why she isn't having babies. Are you keeping the cage clean? Are they in an area where there is little to no stress? Stress can cause problems with producing. Then again there could just be something wrong with the hamsters that they can't reproduce.

No it's not the reason. I bought a hamster , the female hamster is bigger and fatter than the male I put them together in a cage but after two months they got a babies. Actually the pregnancy period of a hamster is too short I think it tooks just a week or weeks.
So for me maybe there is an abnormality to your hamster or maybe your hamster is not yet fertile or not in the right stage to be pregnant. Better consult a vet.

Hi chou chou, your hamster look cute. I also never hear that too fat hamster cannot have baby?? Probably she just cannot have any babies like my dog, Flora. Thanks God, cause it will not be easy task to try to find a decent home for puppies these days.

I've never heard of hamsters being too fat and unable to reproduce. Hmm, I think it could be stress that is causing them to not reproduce. Do make sure the cage is cleaned every week. I think the female hamster is older than the male hamster so they cannot reproduce.
