Yay, I have a computer! So I should be back to posting regularly again soon. For those who have sent me messages, I'll get back to you in the next couple of days, but I'm a little swamped at the moment trying to catch up on things.
Right now things are still pretty crazy around my place. We're still working on coming to terms with my son's epilepsy diagnosis, and just this morning he had a rather bad seizure. Plus I'm having to look for a job, because I have one more day I can miss at the bank for an entire year before they fire me. Bleh. I'm annoyed over that, because I really like my job, but while the local people have been very understanding, they have to follow company policies.
So that's pretty much where I'm at for the moment. I'll try to get back to everyone who replied to my other discussions soon!
Thanks everyone for thinking about me! *hugs*

hon, don't just take company policy as the be all and end all, find out your rights as an employee with the government, there is a government body that is a watch dog for workers. Here in Quebec it is called the wage and norms commission.
Glad to have you back.

I spend my life on here as you can see from my ranking I don't really have much of a life.

Hello lecanis!:-)
Welcome back and congratulations on getting a new computer! :-)
I am glad that you were able to get back to us for updates about what's going on in your life. It's sad that you may lose the job you like, even though you had genuine excuse for being absent and even though your coworkers would like you to stay with them. But, they are probably as powerless as you are in this situation, I guess. I hope, if you have to, you find a better job!
I happy about Dustin being diagnosed, as now, he can be treated accordingly and will be okay in due course of time.
I wish you well in that you find more peace and well deserved calm/happiness!

Thank you! It's great to talk to you again!
The job thing is a bit of a catch-22, because I can't exactly help what's going on, but the company can't really keep me if I'm not reliable either. Right now they are just cutting my hours a bit, but if I miss another day before the year is out, I'll be fired... and I can't imagine I'll manage the rest of the year without an emergency that keeps me from work, between my health problems and Dustin's.
On the brighter side though, I'm very happy about Dusty's diagnosis! It's great to actually know what's going on, and have an idea how to deal with it. Plus there are a lot of resources to help people with epilepsy. :)
Thank you so much for all your kindness, and I hope things are going well for you too! How is your family, and your own little one?

My partner says that in medical field it is said that diagnosis is half the cure since one then knows how to attack the problem. That's what is so good about his diagnosis and I hope he gets the best treatment.
My family is fine and well! My partner has started her long awaited house job as, according to new rules, it is mandatory to do it before appearing in specialization exams. My son took his first steps last month and now he is walking like all the time. He has also learned many words and he loves to operate remote controls, LOL! He is just funny, thank you for asking:-)

It is so good to see you again, lecanis.. I know how hard it is getting use to epilepsy, I pray it will be an easy transition for you and your family..
I think that sucks about your job though, I hate it when a business doesn't consider a situation like yours..I mean once you get your sons seizures under some kind of control, you shouldn't miss that much more..I think they should give you an exception, it isn't like you are always taking time off..You just went through many months of trying to find out what was wrong with your son and now that you know, the only time you would be taking off is if his medication needs to be changed..

Yes, that is what I would do to, you need to cover yourself, just in case. Then again, this may be a blessing in disguise, you might find an even better job with better pay..

LECANIS!
I'm so glad you're back =)
I came back about 2 weeks ago after quite some time away - I was missing everyone and all the fun =)
That's tough about your son - it's lucky he has two awesome parents to be there for him - it must be scary though, for all of you.
Also sucks majorly about the job. Company policies suck - especially when the people at your particular branch/store don't even mind =(
I hope everything sorts itself out and that you can find another job that can be more accommodating and equally enjoyable.
Again, welcome back!
*big hugs*

Thanks, Malyck! Heh, it's good to see you again too!
It is pretty scary, but we're glad to have a diagnosis so at least we have some idea what steps we need to take. And my job, eh, I'm determined not to worry too much since I can't do anything about it. I will start looking for another one though.
*hugs*

*nods* Thank you!
They have him on Depakote right now, which is supposed to help, but we're not sure he'll be able to stay on it. He's having some odd behavior that might be side effects (including waking up screaming from what might be nightmares and what seems to be headaches) so we have to see. And he's had seizures still since he's on it, but if he does stay on it those should become less frequent in time.

FMlA is all I have to say if your son has medical issues that call you away from work as long as the doctor writes you a note denoting that it has to do with your son and excuses you they can't do crap.. It's family medical leave act covers more than just leaving while pregnant. I would look into it. But on the other note we're glad that you're back and I'm sorry to hear about your son having a seizure. I hope that everything is allright .. Have a nice one hun and take care.

*nods* I wish I could use that, but the issue is that my own illness had be out on leave a lot last year, so I technically don't have any FMLA leave left. It rolls over after 12 months, not with the calender year, so I can't do anything about it.
Thanks for the advice though! I appreciate your kindness! :)

It's good to have you back. I've been wondering where you've gone. I already had to quit a job because my family came first and their company policy didn't provide for time off to take care of ones family unless you were going out on unpaid FMLA leave.
I'm sure you will be able to find another job. You're beautiful and brilliant and any company would be lucky to have you.
As for your little man, give him a kiss for me. I know it is hard dealing with any diagnosis your child receives but just think of all the potential disasters that have been avoided by them realizing his problem now instead of later.
You'll do fine. I'm sure of it.

*nods* Family comes first, definitely. The sad thing is that in a way the bank has been really understanding up until now, I had a ton of issues with my own health last year and they were really good about it, but I guess they just can't help me anymore. And I'm out of FMLA coverage for a while.
Thank you so much for your kindness. I'm hoping that his new meds kick in for him soon and we can have things be calm for a while.
