Its a good question, but I guess u and me may not know what they are doing - I mean they may be doing it but we do not know. By the way, the Cricketers earn much less when compared, to soccer, tennis, boxing etc.
Its just now that they are earning good amount of money - anyways they will have to pay the tax on their earnings which would be around 33%. This although is not a direct way of looking after the society, the tax money is used for the development of the country. So they are infact contributing to the society.

Point well said. But you as well as I know what happens to our taxes :). As I said before, I was just thinking out loud here & did not mean to really criticise these guys. True that other sports do pay higher, but I am talking like 60 crore INR for these guys. Take 40% of that & they are still left with more than 30 crorres!!! I think there is still enough to contribute towards the environment, orphanages, old age homes, animal rights & many more.

The amount u r talking about is pure speculation which may or may not happen in future. That price will depend on their performance n the returns that the franchise expects. As it can be seen in this year spending more money n getting big players is not good enough to win matches. Anyway its another topic. But still the amounts that they got this year r about 10% of what u have said...i'm sure they must be doing something which we do not know with the money they have..:)

Bingo!!!!! Myfriend :) We can still count them on their fingers right? Take Imran Kahn into that list too :) But what percentage of the totral earnings of a;ll criucketers would that be? Not much I guess. That's what I am looking at. Even 10% of all their earnings put together could run the army of a small nation for crying out loud!!! :) don't you think? But then that's our view & unfortunately not theirs apparently :)

you are very right man all this money will be a part of their income and this could have been used fr so much development but no. they decided against it. they want more money from the same and that is the reason this is happening.

Yeah I mean as if India doesn't need anymore infra works & poverty issues that they give it all away to these guys who simply pocket them & do nothing with it except for themselves. With all due respetcs to them they might be doing something but atleast we don't know that. The only beneficiaries of this money is probably the government (taxes u see).
