Me and my boy freind were at the bus stop yetrday when the 4th smackead( for lack of a better term) came up to us and treid to scam us of a pound. As he did so and we told him to leave, the old man oppposite us said, "what did he want?" and stood back in disgust as we told him. After doing so a woman came up to us tryin to sell us a cd player at 11 o'clock at night. The old man said he was seventy and he works two jobs just to have enough to live comfertably but these they don't do anything. This country has had it now and that we should get out whilst we are still young.
I thought it was sad that we had to be the generation that saw the end of what could have been such a great country and what was such a great country. I dont blame immigrants or anything like that i think the problem is youth, my generatioon its sad to say but we have messed up England, the generation that took what it wanted ruined peoples lives with no reguard for law. The generation where it is now cool to be nothing, cool to be a "gangsta" and ruin peoples lives. Well what a shame, but i agreed witgh the old man he wasn't just bein typical he was right. There's nothing Great about britina anymore and as sooon as i can afford it me and my fella will be out of here! What does anyone reckon? Agree? Disagree? Comments really wanted.x

Things are pretty screwed up whatever side of the Atlantic you're on. You said you think you want to get out, but where will you go? Things suck in the US and I'm not sure how things are in other European countries. France seems to be in a constant state of unrest lately. Here in the US, we are all paying out of the butt for gas to get to work so that some politicians and oil tycoons can line their pockets. Hard times are everywhere. It might get better, though. You never know. Think of all the things that England has bounced back from.

I agree with you entirely, and saying this from the point of view of an oldie (which I am), Britain has only really gone to the dogs in the last 15 or so years. Like yourself, I don't think it has anything specifically to do with immigrants - those who I've encountered are usually hard-working and come from countries where they have a different attitude to modern-day Britain. I have to, like yourself, lay the blame almost entirely on the behaviour of youth, and I think it's a countrywide thing. I have to lay some blame at the feet of the parents too, who bring their kids up with no morals, no values, don't teach them how to be sensitive to others and much more.
I don't know if we've passed the point of no return....I hope not!
When I was a teenager, the streets were safe to walk late at night, even being a female and alone. It's not even safe to walk through some areas now in broad daylight.
I don't see anything "cool" about being a "gangsta"......I think it's just a pretty jerk-ish way to carry on. I don't object to healthy rebellion, but healthy rebellion is about trying to make society better, not destroying it beyond all hope.

Well we are in the same boat here in the U.S. The entire world is a mess. I told my children not to bother having children, because they may just end up watching them suffer. I told them to adopt poor children that are already here that need love and help. They didn't listen, now I have 4 beautiful grandchildren to worry about.
But there is hope for me anyhow, I believe Jesus is going to come back and save the world.

England's not finished yet, but we've certainly got some serious problems.
A lot of what's wrong stems from the welfare state, paying people to have kids they can't really afford, and a dependence culture which basically discourage you from working - especially as you get taxed to the gills if you do get a job.
Added to that we've got a set of laws which promote violent crime by discouraging self defence, police with too much power, and a government that seems obsessed with keeping us all under surveillance while wanting to ban everything people enjoy.
It's going to take a long time to put things right, and the first step is for people to realise that depending on the government to look after you is a waste of time. Some of us think what's needed is a more libertarian approach:

I think it is pretty clear that the golden period of England has ended. Now the bad time has started.
But if govt will try to enforce laws and policies which have positive effect on the society then u will se a positive outcome in the coming years.
