Reborn dolls,what do you think of them?

I watched a really good documentary a while ago about reborn dolls/babies.
For those of you who arent too sure what they are,they are lifelike model babies,with real hair and they look so scarily real.Any one into them out there??

I love these dolls, I wanted one!! I was always amazed at how much they went for on e-bay. In fact I even considered trying to make them myself because you can learn how to make them. I just think that if these had been out before I had children I might have had these instead!! I have always been into dolls though from being a child, that is the part of me that has never grown up I guess!! You can even get breathing ones, I watched a documentary on them, we perhaps watched the same one!!

We probably watched the same documentary Rose,it was very unusual.But those women ..well the dolls were there life!!But as you say ive seen them sell on ebay for a colossal amount of money!!..even the kits were quite expensive,then i think i would be freaked out trying to make one!!

I caught a bit of another Documentary about Adults who had the Adult size version of these things..also Scary...Some of them were in regular relationships,too-It takes all kinds of People in this world..

My mom used to make them and they sold really well. One time my mom and I plus about 5 kids where getting out of the van and we where setting up our booth to sell at a powwow and my daughter was mad at something she was about 13 yrs old and she was in charge of helping unload the van and getting set up. Well she got out of the van flung open the door and grabbed the "baby" doll which looked and was the size of a real 4 -6 month old baby we had it in a real carseat. Well she grabbed the carseat out of the van an just dropped it on the ground and there just so happened to be a older lady watching all this happen well that lady came unglued when she saw my daughter do that! She marched over to the van and just started laying into my daughter tell her how horrible it was what she had done, my daughter started laughing and told the lady "it's a doll" and the lady goes WHAT! so my daughter picked up the doll by the leg and handed it to the lady LOL she grabbed the doll an looked at it held it like you would a real baby it was so funny she started laughing an apologized to my daughter and then asked how much my mom was selling them for...LOL.

I know and now I think they have dolls that have little tummies that go up and down an a thing in their chest that sounds like a heartbeat. I think it would be kinda cute to have a special doll made of my kids when they where babies, you know something to remember them by I wonder if a company does that kinda thing?

The only type of life like baby I have ever seen was in high school. In one class we had to take this fake baby home with us. It would cry and everything. We had these key things that you would slid in its back. Each one ment something. Changing a diaper, feeding, burping, and things like that. I really did not like it very well. I dont believe I've ever seen one that looked very lifelike though.

If I'd have ever been lumbered with one of those things against my will at school the first thing I would have done would be to discover how much padding it took to muffle the thing until I could give it back - I'm not very maternal and hate the assumption as a female I will want kids and should learn how to look after them for the future!
