Corn on the cob

I bought 8 ears of corn on the cob at the store this morning. My kids both love it and so do I. I am wondering though, how do you cook yours? I usually just pop it in the microwave for a few minutes with the husk still on and then let it sit for a few minutes to cool off. How do you cook yours?

I usually put mine in boiling water the old fashioned way. I've tried making it on the grill it never comes out right.

Mine never seems to get done enough when I try to cook it on the grill.

I boil mine. Though I have a steamer now, I wonder if that'll work?

It should work just fine. I have used the steamer bags in the microwave before and it comes out really good.

I don't like mine overcooked, so I do it this way on the electric stove: I get a pot of water to a full rolling boil, drop in the corn on the cob and wait for the water to come back to a boil. After about a minute, I turn the heat off and let it set until it quits simmering. The corn is done by then.

I have always boiled my corn. I had never seen anyone cook it in the microwave until last summer when we went to my husbands grandparents house and she cooked them in the microwave. I thought i ruined the taste of them. I prefer to boil them on the stove.

I boil mine in some buttered water for a while. I also like to leave the husks on, or wrap them in foil and put them on the bbq grill for a bit. My kids love corn on the cob too.

I usually boil mine in some water with a bit of salt. I love roasted corn on the cob though and would love to learn how roast it myself.
