Blinking Monitor

I hope someone can help me with a problem I'm having with my laptop. My screen is blinking a lot and I don't know what the trouble is. Have any of you ever experienced this problem? I am praying it's not going out completely. Help!

It could be your backlight getting ready to go or just a loose connection somewhere - is it still under warranty - I would get it looked at before it runs out if it is. Wish I could be more help and hope that you get it sorted out! xxx

It went out just after I posted this discussion, mummymo, but I plan to get it repaired. I really believe it is the backlight because everything else seems to be working.

It may be easier if u describe wat u were doing when the problem first occured? Did u install any programs, near the time of the start of the flickering? How old is ur laptop? Try to be as descriptive so that people can help u fix the problem.

I had just uninstalled an application, bugtymar, and I had had no problem of this sort before.

Does your monitor have a battery backup? It seems my older laptop has one. I am not a computer guru but you might also check all your connections. Sorry I can't be of more help to you in this situation. Hope you not losing your monitor.

I know very little about the inner workings of these things myself, carolbee, but it did go out and I'm hoping it's something minor.
