What are your feelings about profanity? We all know it's bad and it deteriorates people but don't you agree it does relieve the stress sometimes? I think it's better to mutter a bad word to yourself than go and beat someone silly just because you're frustrated:) Of course, there are other, much better ways to reduce stress such as meditation and self-help but how many people actually do that?

I am in Australia & nearly everyone i know swears, lol. I think its an Australian thing. It's not really a huge deal over here. There is a comedian called Carl Baron who jokes about how much we swear even when we are happy, ha ha, its really funny.

I agree. muttering a bad word is much better than clocking someone in the head. It is a way to reduce stress.
I don't think there's anything wrong with swearing, even though I don't use profanity. That's a personal standard, pertaining to only me_ except on certain occassions, which you mentioned.
What I don't like is all the bleeping out on television to cover up profanity. When did it become acceptable to cuss on television?
And, have you heard parents swearing at their kids and their kids swear back at them? Wow, what has happened to our society?

Yes,I have. I've actually seen a woman set an example to her kids. We had a small misunderstanding and she started cussing and insulting people right in front of her kids who immediately took after their Mom.
