Does this bother you?

Does it ever bother you when someone comments on your myLot profile with ads for their "get paid to..." sites?
I personally don't mind going through and deleting those comments, but I still find it somewhat rude, especially since I specifically state on my profile that I don't like those kinds of comments. I never click the ads. It is just spam to me.
I understand if the person has asked for links or is for whatever reason interested in those types of sites, but for me I don't like it. It feels like they are using my profile to try to get exposure. That's what their own profile is for!

Hi molly
well sure they dont bother me as i can understand that is paying site and if not all but most of people here are to earn online and for that they will do anything they can grab on as their only MOTIVE is Money, So i just simply ignore them and delete them

It does and I delete them right away. I actually had to delete a friend after telling them several times not to do that, and when they kept on doing it I delete them and then they had the nerve to ask for my friendship again LOL

yea,i was thinking that too.they're making a billboard of the message section.it does irk me,but the ones that really annoy me are the spam that is
so big it shifts the whole page layout.if it were little,i might let it go.

Actually I never even look at the comments bit...your question prompted me to take a look and I found a comment from three months ago! - that's the only one though (I don't leave comments so that's fair enough...)
What gets me is when you receive random friend requests, I visit their profile and if it is all about making money online or they are promoting some sort of pyramid scheme with their website link, there is no way that I accept them as a friend - I guess I'm just picky (I don't need those sort of friends...).
You are right, don't let them taint your personal space!

Hi wooitsmolly! No, not really although I don't do it dear. But if somebody will post it on my friends' comments, it is alright because it is still up to me if I will respond to it or not. I still have the final say. Although I get what you mean and you have made it clear that it is not what you want to see in your profile, that is your right and people should have respected that too. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

I really don't mind them. I do get those once in a while but I just ignore them. I think a lot of people here are into earning one way or another and I don't care as long as they don't bother me or try to harm me in any way possible. I believe in happy co-existence.

I haven't had this problem here on Mylot, but I do on Yuwie. I actually a couple days ago posted a blog about a site I'd just joined that I was excited about. Someone responded to that blog comment with their own site to promote it. I was a bit angry and deleted it, and deleted them as a friend too. Actually what made the whole thing worse was he started his comment with "that's impressive for you, but try this site...."

I'm kind of new to MyLot, but I know spamming is unacceptable, and that's spamming. Is there a way you can report these people?

I don't care for those either Molly. I enjoy the ones with a nice picture and a few words to say hello. But the ones that post a link to their money making sites are not favored by me.

It doesn't bother me one way or the other actually. I just ignore it and move on. I don't have time to go to these sites anyway.

I've noticed mylot a lot in the search engines. What are the rules here for placing affiliate links in the conversations? It would be fine with me, but only if the links were relevant to the conversation. The search engines won't hardly list affiliate links anyway.

I hate seeing them on my friends' comment sections when I get bored and go visit their profiles. If I ever see one pop up in my own comment section, I'll delete it pronto. Think it's rude to do that.

Hmm... I never really paid attention much to my profile. Cos no one ever really pay attention to them enough to add anything to the comments section.
But if it were to happen to me too often, I will remove the comment portion and not allow anyone to post anything for a while.
That should stop the spammers for a short period of time.
