I Just Registered To Vote,

For the first time in my life. Until now, I never really saw much of a need to vote. But after what has happened in the past few years. I am at the point where I feel that whether or not my vote sways things the way I think they could be, I have to stand up and be counted. This war in Iraq has really had a big impact on me personally. Watching Cindy Sheehan agonize over the loss of her son the way that she did, really touched my heart. My little cousin fought in "Desert Storm," and now he is fighting cancer. I figure the least that I can do is cast my vote. I finally found a candidate whom I truly believe in my heart can make a difference. I wanted to do more than just root for them. If you live in California and want to register online, here is the link for you. http://ag.ca.gov/

Congratulations. Voting is so important to a healthy body politic. It does not appear we agree on the issues, but that is irrelevant. The important thing is that people vote.

Thank you. And I am very happy that we can agree to disagree.

Isn't that what makes America great??? All the different opinions are respected. Rather than grounds for jail -- or worse.

Good for you Rozie. I think everyone who is eligible to vote, should. I keep get mail to register to vote but I'm not eligible so not sure why the county sends these to me. That reminds me I must reply back saying that I'm not eligible.

I'm not a citizen, just have permanent residence. I'm sure the form only asks two things that I'm over 18 and that I'm a citizen. If I answer no to any of them then not to fill out the rest of the form. Unless I read that wrong LOL

I will have to read about all of that. I know that if a person marries a citizen, they can stay. I am soabout all that, hehe.

Are you not eligible because you were not born here? I thought that every one who is a citizen could vote. Heck, if we can have Arnold what's is face for a governor, surely you can vote, right?

Good for you. If more people would take an active roll in politics then maybe we could actually begin to change things.

Well Done! I am a great believer in using the vote that others in the past have fought so hard to get for us. I too am unable to vote in this election as I am not a citizen just a PR loads more money/forms.exams and crap before I reach that stage lol. So make your vote count on my behalf too !

Sounds like a lot to go through to become a citizen. Think it over, LOL.
