Here in Malaysia its a law to wear seatbelt for the driver and co-driver seats. whereas for the passengers' seat, its yet a law to have the seatbelts on. so, generally the passengers here don't wear their seat belts. So, if im driving or in the co-driver's seat i'll put on my seat belts because i don't want to have a ticket from the police :)

yep, it is great to know that almost all of you guys that have responded to my discussion here, say that your city, country, whatever has that same
law. I was trying to see how many others around the globe have that law
and see if it is as strict as it is here. I've learned that there are a bunch
of folks everywhere, including out of the country has that same law, and if not but more strict than others.
thanks to all of you for responding, and Let's keep them seat belts on and
keep safe!
Have a great day today!

yep, I do think that a lot of places, and countries have this law. But, I didn't realize just how much, LOL. I think about the different countries that I don't think have this law, and yet they do. Makes me feel good that other countries are trying to keep their citizens safe while driving their cars wherever they need to go.
thanks for sharing with me your country's law about seatbelts szechow_ong.

yea, they passed that law here a few years ago.
sometimes i wish they made exceptions though, when i had surgery recently the belt laid right on the area, but i still put it on so my brother wouldn't get a ticket.i ended up putting my arm under the belt to space it.

it was horrible, but some good did come of it.
the state finally changed a dangerous apartment complex driveway after that.many lives were probably saved by it.

yea,i'm east coast.
that's true.some woman up here awhile back got cut in half because of hers..but then getting repeatedly hit by oncoming traffic didn't help either.
in most cases though,it's a good thing.

though it is part of a law on most countries, but this is for our own safety that we need to practice putting seat belt everytime we are in a car especially if we are going to travel a long journey.

that's cool breath that you wear your seatbelt. it may be against the law,
but, it will save your life as well.
that's what people are not realizing on.
hopefully they will realize that, and start using their seatbelts.

The answer is yes,we do wear seabelt.
I often think it is meaningless, but according to the survey, there are more accident when people don't wear seatbelt. Then it is may usefull when there is a danger.
Though wear seatbelt is uncomfortable, but we should do for the purpose of our safety.

it does make sense when we do put them on. we will save our lives.
and than some of them out there, hate wearing it, and don't even
realize the safety of wearing a seatbelt.
I guess that's why the law is buckling down on making people wear em'.
so, they won't kill themselves.

It is a law here that we are suppose to wear them. When I am driving with my kids we all wear our seat belts. But when I am driving without my kids I don't always wear one. I know I should, but I just don't. Sometimes I forget to put it on and other times I just don't take the time.

Yes this law is also in my hometown and sometimes(once in a while),they randomly have the checkings also. And if you fond not using seat-belts then they will ask for penalty. I dont think that this law is strictly adhered to. Actually law is driver as well as the person accompaning him on front seat shoud use seat-belt.

yep, they check once in a blue moon down here too. they are trying to get more strict and to let people know that this is the law, and that if you don't abide by it, than you will be fined.
I sort of like that, and than again sorta dont.

Hi there joimarquez,
That's great that you wear a seatbelt in your car while driving.
We need to keep safe from getting very bad hurt, or even killed.
Also, the cops are buckling down on it too as well. I think that the
cops are like this everywhere nowadays. I've noticed on a lot of responses
that everybody says the same thing, that it is the law in their city or country. Which is great though, but, I didn't know that it was everywhere else. LOL
Thanks for responding friend, and have a beautiful day!!!

In my country, it is a must to put on seat belts on the front seats. A few years ago, the passengers on the back seats are required to put on seat belts as well. However, the law for back seats is not tightly enforced so not many people put on seat belts on the back seats.

Although it is not against the law to go without a seatbelt in my hometown, I don't think it is the smartest idea. First off, any civil suit you put forth to pay for medical bills would most likely be shot down because your seatbelt would prevent so much bodily injury. Second, is it really worth risking your life or the life of the other people in the car?
To expand upon that point, the seatbelt not only protects you from injury, but also allows you to stay in your seat when in a crash. This is a critical point because if your not in your seat, who is in control of the vehicle? I would rather play it safe then lose my life over such a little nuisance.

i do wear my seatbelts when i ride a car and i remind my passenger to do the same. whether it is the law or not , it is better to be safe than never. you can never be sure of what's going to happen once you are inside a moving car.

It is the law here in the Philippines that the driver and the person sitting in the passenger seat should wear the seatbelt and I do whenever I am sitting in the passenger seat.

It's a law to wear seatbelts where we live too. Though I will admit that we often do not where them. Seatbelts make me terribly uncomfortable so I often just leave it off. We do make our child where his seatbelt though. I have always felt that it should be your choice once you are an adult however.
@BUSSY1979 (1283)

that's the biggest law about seatbelts. is to have your child restrained to
the car seat, and the car seat buckled down tightly where the carseat wont move off the back seat. I've seen more tickets in that way then any other.
Thanks for responding sis.

Here in United Kingdom it is law to wear a seatbelt in the car at all times.
When we get into the car we ensure that we and the children are all seat belted in and we don't drive off until everyone is safty in there seats with there belts on.
I want to be safe and I want my children to be as safe as possible so they wear the correct belt and sit in the correct car seats.
It is so much better to take those extra few seconds and be safe rather than sorry.

hi there to both of you. I appreciate it for you both responding.
wearing seat belts is safe even if we all don't want to.
A lot of us don't realize that the fact we are saving our lives.
We can never be too sure of how safe we are all when we step
in that car.
