which do you choose? melody or the voice ,

the melody.. voice follows.. but it doesnt mean that if the singer doesn't have a good voice, he/she wont make it to fit in the melody of the song. some singers don't have good voice but it seems like their voice and the melody blend well..

I listen to the bassline of a song first, assuming I can hear it at all and not too buried in the mix. I'm a bass player, so that's why that happens. After that, I try to pick out a different intrument or vocal line to follow each time through a song. It just keeps it more intersting that way :) and nobody wants boring music, do they :D
