Feed and water system for tomatoes

I have been recommended to put my greenhouse tomato plants in 10 inch pots with their bases cut off, and then to place the pots into the growbag. This gives them a deeper space for rooting and encourages the roots to go deeeper into the bag of compost for moisture.
At the same time I have used soda (pop) bottles with their bases cut off pushed neck don into the compost at the base of the pots.
These are regularly filled ith water and/or liquid tomato feed so the soil never dries out.
Has anyone else had success using this method?

When I plant my tomatoes I will bury them up to the last set of leaves. This will create a very large root system which in turn will develop into a faster growing plant that produces larger and better fruits. Tomatoes will also grow roots out of the stems close to the ground if it is moist enough.

Thanks for the tip - I will try that. We've finally got some warm weathr here in the UK and over the last few days they have been shooting up in leaps and bounds, using a lot of ater.
This is of course recycled water from the water butts at the end of my garden shed.

Thank you for the best response. The temperatures have dropped to the 40F degree range here. Something else beneficial to tomatoes is red mulch. You can do a search about it to learn more. The benefit of it is the mulch bounces beneficial light back to the plants. It does produce better results.

yes..That will be a fine way to grow your tomatoes..I have used the methode when i was in school..Here is another tip to help pruning and harvesting ...
Get some trellis and as your tomatoes grow train them up it..Keep them from growing away from it by pruning..It makes for a clean look and you can harvest with amazing ease..cuz it is flat afterall and you wont have a big bush to dig through to find the ripe tomatoes

Sorry, I can't help you with this one. I'm the classic cactus killer, you know? the plants that don't need watering all that often and thrive on neglect? Yeah, I tend to kill them off too.
I'm sure you will find a great way of raising your tomatoes and will end up with tonnes of them to eat and use.
