Is affiliate advertising getting out of hand???

It is becoming increasingly difficult to use search engines to get relevent information these days. For a single word like "freelance writing", you get thousands of search results..but how many of these results actually contain the info. that you're looking for? If you go through these search results you will find that most of the web pages contain links and almost all the websites have similar links linking to and from each other. You just waste your time and energy looking and you get almost the same thing on all these sites. What do you think people?
