Are you appreciative of people who do nice things for you? Do you write thank you notes to show it? I've written thank you notes to all my proffs in college and whenever somebody does something from their heart I let them know it touched mine. Everyone needs to be appreciated and encouraged. What say you?

No I don't actually but I do think that such types of thank you notes are a wonderful idea. Unfortunately the art of writing letters altogether is slowly disappearing as digital technology progresses further and further. I think the fact you write thank you notes is lovely and I am sure the people who receive such notes from you really appreciate them.

I am terrible about it I have to admit, and it is not my mom's fault she raised me to write notes. I do always make sure to thank people personally and with the help of email I always make sure to thank people on line if I have their email address, but I am more about a personal thank you. I do write notes to older people because they get upset if you don't. I always have so many balls in the air all the time, even if I plan on writing one I end up forgetting. I pretty much have to do it right away or it will slip my mind. So I just always make sure I thank people in person and give them a hug.

I know that you are more personable than most. I don't write them all the time, just when I think a person really needs to know they did a good job or really helped out.

I agree, a thanks after a post is just a reply not an appreciation. Keep up the "lost" work.

I write thank you notes and yes, even for extra special efforts. But I didn't write any to my profs, lol. Writing thank you notes seems to not be taught anymore. It's a shame. I make sure, my kids still do it. Hopefully they'll eventually understand that it's not just a form of torture, lol.

Like taking out the trash or picking up their clothes? Write them a thank you note when they do their chores, it goes a long way.
