Most of my savings is in INGDirect. It pays almost as much for a savings account as most companies pay for CD's. The biggest benefit is that you can access your money anytime, unlike a CD.

ING does work well and is easy to do. You can also set up an account for an IRA and deposit into it a little at a time - then when tax time rolls around next April - you can use your IRA to cut your tax obligation!

We're cutting back on the trips we make to town to cut back on fuel costs. We're buying even less processed foods than before - cooking more from "scratch" at home - not eating out as much. I have set up for a specified amount to be withdrawn automatically from our checking account and deposited into two separate INGDirect accounts - one a saving account, and another an IRA account that will help reduce the taxes we will owe for this year.
