The city, town or village? Big or small?

If you had to choose, where would you stay - the city, town or village? Would you want to live in a huge metropolitan area or would you prefer a small quiet town/village?
Just wondering about your choice and why you made your decision.
...
Me? While the city has its perks, I prefer live in a small town - somewhere in the middle between a city and a village. Big towns are just too messy, too crowded and too...fast. Small villages are the exact opposite. Towns are just nice for what I have in mind. ^.^
What about you?

I would rather live way out in the country, with a house, private pond, garden in the back, etc. One movie I like is FUNNY FARM with Chevy Chase. He buys a house in the country and moves out there to write a book...
I would love to buy a place like that and move out there. Would be a nice way of life...

LOL...yes...you reminded me of my countryside walk last weekend. Hubby got us lost and we ended up wandering around farms and it felt VERY quiet and peaceful - despite the cow bells and farm smell.
I'd love to live there but I don't know if I'd go nuts from the boredom. Maybe by then I would have found something to do. :)

I prefer to live in a quiet town which is not too far from the actual busy town/city. Actually that's where I am staying right now. Love the area which still has alot of trees and greens and no traffic jam.

ive lived in the city.. for far too long really, and fully agree with you, that theyre dirty and noisy and smell bad.. too busy too crowded.. etc etc
now im out in the sticks section of a small little town, and i much prefer it here. its quiet.. clean.. the people are friendly for the most part. lots of green.. much nicer

I will choose a big modern city . It's more convenient , although it has a lot of noise . However , I think village is the best choice after you retire . It's peaceful and fresh .
