In Montreal this week a lady was fired from her job at Tim Horton's for giving a baby a free timbit. Ok a timbit is 17 cents and the company is worried about losing money?!?! They gave her a job at another location after many complaints. Ok they think this such a big problem my friend used to work at Tim Horton's and she used to sell us coffees for the price of a timbit which is worse...I refused my coffee from her but she never got fired.
Do you think the lady should have got fired for giving away a 17 cent timbit or do you think if she sold someone something on the menu for the price of a timbit then that would be a reason to fire her?

ok, that helps! Sounds good, too! It's to bad she "lost" her job over one, though. I probably would have done the same thing she did for the baby. If jobs aren't hard to find where she lives, I might consider finding a different one to not have to work for a boss like that everyday!

She should not have been fired...it's 17 cents...it's not like the company will go out of business or something....when I go through with my friend and his dog, they always give us a free timbit for the dog when they see her sitting there wagging her tail and I dont think any of them ever got fired.

I understand the company has policies. But their policies are there for completely different reasons. They are for theiving or otherwise, employees who take advantage of the workplace.
This woman, was being a woman. She gave a timbit to a baby. 17 cents....
I think this is a little bit far, to move her to another location. Couldn't they just explain they didn't want her giving away a product without receiving their money? And leave it at that?
