Hubby went to the doctor today

He was thoroughly checked over for the pain that he had had in his left side the other day, and everything seems to be ok. Our doc didn't order any tests though since it was too far past when the pains hit for anything to be effective in finding the cause. The doc thinks that the muscles under the ribs knotted up tightly and that is what caused so much pain and sweating for hubby. So the orders are for him to go to the emergency room if it happens again and to make sure that they do whatever tests necessary to pinpoint the problem. I'm just glad that he's ok. Thank you everyone for being here for me yet again. Hugs to all.........Carryl Here's the link to the first discussion I posted if you want to check out what originally happened with hubby: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1506260.aspx

I glad that he is feeling better. I cannot understand why tests were not ordered for the pain that he had. Especially for the pinpoint area that he was able to tell them that it was. Isn't the speen there? I hope that this was just gas and nothing is seriously wrong with him. (((hugs)))

I feel the same way. But I can understand why our family doc didn't order any, since he wasn't the one that saw hubby when the pain occurred. But everything seems to be fine for now. Everyone is on alert in case it happens again though. Thanks hon.

Hi Katlady, Thanks for letting us know how he's doing. That's good news, as far as what the doctor thinks it is, and hopefully it won't happen again. I get muscle spasms in the same area on both sides, and have for years. I've had this checked out, and was told that I have some condition with a very long name, ending in 'tse tse.' I've never heard tell of such a thing, and just the name makes me smile, as I think of a 'tse tse fly.' Anyway, the pain is sure nothing to laugh at, and comes in irregular intervals, and not every day. Apparently, mine is a result of my carrying my daughter so high, when I was pregnant, and some damage done to my rib cartilage.

Oh wow! Well I'm glad you're not in that pain constantly hon. I'm really hoping that a muscle spasm was all it was with hubby too. Thanks sweetie. Hugs!

I'm thankful it's not constant, or everyday too, but there are days when once it starts, it just doesn't let up. I try to be careful, but can never predict when it will hit. A simple thing like bending to get something off the lower shelf of the fridge, can trigger it off. I've had it for over seventeen years, which is hard to believe. Many people I know, have no idea about this. I figure if I tell too many, they'll really think I'm falling apart, because of my other health concerns as well. Thanks for caring, and I hope your hubby doesn't have anymore episodes. Big hugs to you too.

I hope it doesn't either. For him to even admit that he is in pain means it's pretty bad. Hugs to you to PPP.

I'm really glad that he is ok. It's awful when mysterious stuff like that happens! I'd rather know what was going on so that maybe I could keep it from happening again.

Glad to hear hubby is doing ok but wish they could of found out what cause his intense pain. Hopefully, he will take the dr.'s advice and head to the ER next time it happens so they can figure out why.

Oh he will, believe me...even if I have to go and get him myself! But I think he will be a good boy the next time and do what he's supposed to.
