The black triangles represents the adversities we overcame and the hardships we may endure in the furture.
The green triangles represents hope and agricultural wealth.
The golden diagonal cross represents the mineral wealth and the the sunlight.
When summed up the meaning of the motto of the Jamaica flag is
Hardships there are but the land is green and the sun shineth.

I am from the Philippines. Here is the meaning of our flag.
The national flag of the Philippines is a horizontal bicolor with equal bands of blue and red, and with a white equilateral triangle based at the hoist side; in the center of the triangle is a golden yellow sun with eight primary rays, each containing three individual rays; and at each corner of the triangle is a five-pointed golden yellow star. The flag is displayed with the blue field on top in times of peace, and with the red field on top in times of war.
Below is the Philippine Flag picture. Thanks.

hey there guys,
im from the philippines too... i would like to just add a few things about the flag. hehehe.. the color blue represents freedom and independence and peace of course. while red shows the blood that was spilt for freedom and independence and it also represents war. white stands for purity and equality. if you look at the sun more closely, you will see that it has 8 rays. there are 8 rays in the philippine flag because these rays are the 8 provinces that led an uprising against the spanish rule back in the day. and the 3 stars that are placed on the corners of the white flags are the 3 main geographical region of the country. which is luzon - the top star, visayas - middle star and mindanao - bottom star.
thats my addition.. thanks :)

This is what the flag of Trinidad and Tobago looks like.
The red base represents the vigor of the land in Trinidad and Tobago, the friendliness and courage of its people, and the sun. The black represents the unity and strength of the people, as well as the natural wealth of the country. The white represents the surrounding sea and the purity and equality of all people under the sun. Together, the colors represent earth, water and fire, which connect the nation's people to the past present and future.
