I have a 90 lb boxer, today we went to the local animal shelter to get my daughter a new dog. The boxer is pretty much my dog, so we wanted to get her one of her own. Anyway....we picked a great dog for her. It is so friendly. It stays by her side and follows her everywhere. And she is so loveable. She is perfect except for 1 thing. She constantly tries to attack my boxer. She chases him and snarls and grows constantly. The bad thing is my boxer is afraid and won't even growm back. He just wants to play. It is starting to drive me crazy and wishing I never would have got another dog. Please anyone, any ideas?

Have you told the new dog off for growling? Maybe she just doesn't realise yet what the proper way to behave is. I'd try having her on a lead so you have control over her behaviour. Then you can more easily indicate disapproval when she behaves badly. I'd give it at least a week for them to settle into a better relationship. What is the breed, age and size of the girl dog? Boxers always want to play don't they? Maybe she doesn't realise that.

I used crate training for m boxer and it really worked for behavior and house training. I have started that with her. I am not sure of the breed we got her at the pound, she is a mix. If I had to guess I would say she is 8 or 9 months old. She is a medium size dog, bought half the size of my boxer. Boxers love to play and are wonderful dogs.

You had to put them together many many times. If the new dog started to snarl, you had to scowled her, and if that didnot work, pretend you get really mad. Usually it will work. Once we had this kind of problem. But after a few days, they become friends. specially if the dog is male and female. It will be extra hard if the dogs were both male. Territory dogs problem. Remember scold her everytime she try to growl at the boxer. told her, both dogs are friend and should play together. or if the dog like your daughter best, ask your daughter to scold her. Hope it work.
