My daughter's cat had kittens, and I decided to take one. I wanted to name him Slyvester, when I told my husband what I wanted to name him, he said I should name him "Stubby". Guess why? answer below. My kitten was born with no tail, I think he likes his name too.

How sweet! Is he responding to his name already? Do tell us more about how you've gotten him to respond when you call him. What breed is he? He's not one of those cats that naturally do not have a tail, right? Like a Manx, or something?

Thank you for responding, all I know is that when we call him, he purks up and comes. As for no tail, he was born that way, mama doesn't have one either. I'm thinking its just genetic, he was the only one of the litter to be born with no tail. Either way I think it makes him special. Thanks, again Karen

I think that the name "Stubby" suits the cat perfectly, although I'm partial to the name Sylvester as well. Everytime I hear the name Sylvester, I think of the black and white cartoon cat. It is a cute name nevertheless. Good luck with your kitten!

Thanks for responding, when I look at him I think of Sylvester and would have nicknamed him Sly, but When my husband said "Stubby" I had to laugh and agree with him. Thanks, again Karen

Hi! Thats really nice that you have kittens. I love cats but my mom doesnt like their smell so we dont have one. Its also nice that your cat likes his name. Does he have a bit if a stub or he doesnt have any tail at all? If he doesnt the thought that cam to my mind was 'how is he going to balance himself when he jumps?'. It was just a thought, goodluck with your new family. Pet him for me will you?and all of your cats and dogs(if you have one) and all of your pets for that matter. Thanks, have a nice day.^_^

Thanks for responding. He was born without one, nothing there and he seems to balance himself quite well. It doesn't seem to effect him at all. Thanks, again Karen
