You receive a "0x0000007E" error message after you install SP2 and SP3.

This happnes due to non intel based processors and the incompability of the SP2 and SP3 files with non intel based processor.
First of all you have to boot to safe mode and just the safe mode.
How To boot to safe mode: as soon as the computer starts start tapping the F8 key and select safe mode and hit enter. At the Operating system hit enter again.
to take care of the following issue dothe following steps:
1) Open up registry editor startrunregedit
2) browse to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Intelppm
3) In the right pane, right click the start entry and then click on modify
4) In the value data box, type 4 and then click on OK
5) Quit Registry editor
6) Restart the computer

Welcome to myLot priyamchakraborty, I have not experience this on my PC with an AMD processor both with SP2 or SP3 slipstreamed to WinXP setup disk. The worst error I encountered was my SP3 not detecting a built-in audio card but did in SP2.
