i feel that i am close to the situation you are in. when i begin getting tired i get ready for bed, but when i actually lay my head down my mind seems to wander endlessly and i cant keep control of it.i havent found anything that helps me with this yet? the thing that seems to help me the most (although it doesnt seem to cure my problem) is listening to music while i try to sleep.it seems to help sooth the soul and calm me down.

i agree.it only seems to work on some nights.i think my main problem is i am either so stressed about the day to come/or am way excited for the next day.either way my mind wont settle down and therefore my body wont either.

I have insomnia any time I know I have to do something the next day. For instance, if I have an appointment at 8:00 a.m., I will end up staying up all night! Years ago, I had insomnia really bad. After a couple of nights of not sleeping more than an hour, I decided to read a new book I had. It was 800 pages long. I read it in one night! So reading didn't help me get sleepy!
Music used to help me some. I also bought a sound machine. It is very relaxing. I usually put it on ocean waves...that sound is so soothing. That helps me more than anything.
Hope you find some help. Not sleeping can really wear you out!

Yes, I used to. Now my hours are find of weird for me. I sleep during the day and I'm wide awake during late afternoon and night. Currently, I am working from home, trying to gain some cash. Insomnia is still very much an issue with me, I believe. It just seems more toned down now. Weird, I know.
