The last years there has been tons of movie realeases that takes books or comics and puts them on film. Last of these is Ironman. Though is a great movie, I think a Book or a Comic is way better than a Movie. With a book or a comic your imagination run wild thinking that you are the hero or that you save the day while in a movie you don't have to think much, everything is there.
Is like the original is always better than the copy (or adaptation) or the first movie is better than the sequel.
What do you think about this?? What do you prefer?? and Why??

I like your avatar!
I'm a reader and when I read, I spin a tale of an imaginary world around in my head. I think what the characters look like and how their voices sound.
I fall in love with characters. I experience their lives, as my heart thumps, reading about the narrow escape from the bad guys.
The only movie I liked as well as the book was the first movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's book.
In 'The Fellowship of the Ring'_ the hobbits and their village matched my mental picture and actually enhanced my experience.
After the first movie, the continuing adaptations fell below my dreams, worsening with every movie, and landing like a thunk in my heart when the trilogy closed.

I always prefers the book. When I saw a movie and if it was great, I'll look for the book version of it and read it at mt leisure. Books are much more accurate, detailed in every aspect. It is not constricted with time limit unlike the movie where everything must be done in 2 to 3 hours. One never misses anything in the book while in the movie some unimportant roles must be cut off to save time and production costs.

Just watched the movie 20 minutes ago. It was AWESOME. Only thing I didn't like was the easter egg. I waited an extra bout 5 minutes just for a 2 second bonus.

Well, for me a lot of times, when it comes to which is better, the Book or a Movie... it usually depends on what the Theme, etc. is but for most of these, the book is always better... and is usually better done with more Themes as well. Especially when it comes to Stephen King I prefer his books more.

Depends on the story.
When done right, I'll like them both equally. More often than not the book is better, but sometimes it is equal. But many yet fall short...and I focus mainly on them BUTCHERING the story.
My first love was always books.
But it depends.

I would say i prefer movies because i don't really like reading. I've tried reading some of the movie books but i find it i lost interest reading it so i end up reading halfway. If it's the movie, i can watch without having to read anything and just watch. For me, It is easier to watch than read. But i guess the extra advantage that a movie can get is all those extra action you get to watch compared to reading. Movies to me makes better expression than books. Not sure about others.. but thats my preference.

these days i prefer movies because all i have to do is sit and watch. reading seems like too much effort anymore and i rarely if ever have the time to read anyway.

I prefer the Book, not only because it's the original but also sometimes when they make it into a movie they tend to change something that's not within the book. Sometimes they delete or add a part or a character that you will not find in the book. Also in the book, i sometimes try to imagine that i'm the lead person. I can use my imagination.

I perfer books because they provide more information and more detail into the story. They also help the reader use imagination.

Ok, since I have not much time to read any books lately I rather see a movie to relax. But for 10 years ago, I did a lot of reading. And my favorite book is a series of the author of the cave bears and Ayla. I have those books in my book shelf and can sometimes read them again. They actually did a movie about them and sometimes I do put that movie on to. I guess the movie did not get a lot of response because they did not make more movies. It is a story of five books, but they did only one movie....I wish they would have done all of them.

The book is almost always better than the movie. I think there are two reasons (at least) for this. One is that the book normally has more details. A novel containing a lot of intricate details such as 'Jurassic Park' or 'Da Vinci Code' is going to lose something when it gets put into movie form because of the time constraint.
The second reason is imagination. When I read a book, I have clear pictures in mind of each character, the scenery, everything. The movie version never matches the images in my head.
If given a choice of a book or a film, I would almost inevitably choose the book.

I prefer the Movie a little.Just think,in a movie, you could see the really scene,it includes the live style and language and mamy many other things, all of it you can see,it's very vivid. If you read a book, you must pay more attention to think about the dramatis personae, you have to analyse their behaviour and mentality. But this just be the pleasure of reading, somebody says.

my opinion to this is that, it is really better to read the book than watch the movie. why? mainly because, in the book, it is very detailed, nothing has been cut, nothing has been changed. the content is really there, it is fresh and very raw. no manipulations or alterations that have been made. not like the movie where some chapters of the book are being cut or sometimes being edited. therefore, i still prefer reading the book because it helps us understand more of what the story is all about and your brain can really function well, especially in dealing with the imagination.
