what will you do when you receive chain message/letters?

Did you receive chain letters or messages in your email or cellphone, telling you to sent it to a certain number of people so that nothing bad happens to you or your family?Did you find it annoying also and for a few minutes you'll fear that if you didn't comply something bad happens just like the message said? What did you do about it? Well, the first time I received it, I am so scared esp. if it is about my family. I always received it on my cellphone, and more often than not, I have no load in my cellphone whenever I got one. Maybe you'll find me very silly but I was too scared that time, I really think that I'll be cursed if I didn't send it. But over the years,I gradually find it not that threatening than the first time, although I'm still slightly scared till now. So sometimes I send it, other times I didn't. And to be safe, I always prayed and wished nothing too bad will happen to us. How about you? what are your experiences with this?Do you also believe it?Or you just read and ignore it?

I do receive them, on mails or through text messages. I just ignore them, since I don't believe in such. If it's all about religion or the letter pertains to God and such, I don't buy it. Because I know, that my God wouldn't allow such bad things to happen on me. And if something does happen (which I know wouldn't, because I haven't experienced any untoward incidents happenings on me ever since), then I would treat it as just plain coincidence.

When I was young and in school, I was very naive and treated chain letters with much belief and respect, such that I will not break the chain in case the wealth promised will not materialize or the curse will befall me. Nowadays, I absolutely don't believe in chain letters anymore, so if they arrive at my mailbox, it stops right there and will be thrown into the nearest dustbin (what they call the thrash in email). Once a while, I do receive such chain emails but I reckon I am getting less and less of such mails these days, probably because my friends being the older folks will not be inclined to believe in chain letters also.

Thanks for your vote, Kylie. There isn't any need to be fearful of chain mails. I don't think they are pranks, and probably people initiate these just for the fun of it.

Yeah, I really think that by then, when I was too kid and naive with such, but now when I read opinions of those who respond here, I realized that there's nothing to be scared about those stuff. thanks for sharing your experience :D

I just ignore them (whatever they say), it's a waste of time and load. I simply don't believe something bad will happen to me (or any member of my family). I think the people who create those are quite sick. ;)

Yes I also recieve a number of such messages mainly through e-mails. Just like in your case, in the beginning I was scared about this. Now a days I just read the message and ignore them. There is no point in forwarding this to other people and create nuiscence to them also. If we forward such e-mails or mobile messages to our frieds and relatives, it should really be threatening and nuiscence to them. Why should we create such situation to our dear ones? In my opinion all of us should ignore such messages.

Today, with email this is going on. Right from my childhood I have heard parents talk about such post cards and that these should be ignored. I have also received such emails and I find it extremely irritating.I delete them immediately.

No, I try not to read them, and they do annoy me immensely. They'd be far more interesting if they WERE real, but they're not. Ever. So I delete them. (No I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to anyone, but Mom's been itching to get her hands on a monster or a criminal or something...to work out her issues, you know..._ I figure if we're not scary enough to deal with whatever's possibily out there, then we'll handle it. If not then..oh well, we went down fighting. Ignoring the fact, that these things never work in my experience lol)

Like you, I am scared about receiving chain mails/letters especially if its about my family. At first, I only recieve them in my emails, I was scared when i first receive one so I send it to some of my friends. Then if another one come, i send it again. Then when I was so scared of one specific chain mail (i didn't really received it in my mail or cellphone, a friend told me the story) a classmate of mine told me not to believe it and just to believe in God...and that's when I stop sending chain mails...and start to ignore it..and in the end, i'm not scared anymore

Really,?? so I'm not the only who felt like that to those letters, I guess. Yeah, that's exactly what I thought when I stop believing those letters. Thanks for sharing your experience :D

I do get them and see it happening everyone. It just a waste of time to believe in it. You should just read it and ignore. From seeing videos about how people to charms or voodoo i do no think they need letters or email or to do anything to you. If you get paranoid of this chain letters, it just means that you are overreacting. Just stay cool and calm ignore them.

well, I find it very silly when I think of my reactions now. you're entirely right about being paranoid if you keep believe it. I'll try to be more calm just like you said when I received it again. Thank for your response. I really appreciate it :D

I always toss them away and have never had anything bad happen as a result.I think they are illegal and' against the law anyway. I do not believe in that kind of stuff so it cannot hurt me. I toss them in the waste basket.

I usually read it then delete them. Some are alright but most of them are rubbish especially the ones that say you'll get bad luck if you don't forward it.

Before i was a bit afraid receiving chain letters because they always say that if you didn't pass it to a certain number of people, bad things will happen to you and your family. I was too young then to understand that the my fate does not depend on a silly chain letter. Now that i now better, i just ignore it and delete it immediately.

Yeah, I also realized it now that I am older, I shouldn't believe with those stuff. I am too kid that time and didn't realized that it was foolish to believe it. :D thanks for responding on my discussion, have a nice day :D

Yes, I did receive such chain letters from my cellphone and also with my e-mail. I just smiled and then deleted the messages. There is nothing bad happened to me for failing to do what the sender asked me to do. Personally, I don't believe in these chain letters.

I really don't know why I feel that in the first time I received it. Sometimes, I also did what you did, but I have this silly feeling that maybe it will be true. But now, when I hear your opinions, I realized that there's nothing to scared about :D hehe,Thank you for your response, I really happy to know your experience with this :D

Well I don't believe in chain letter or chain text messages. This game is a psychological game and plant the fear for those who believes it. So I do not believe in such trick. I always delete the message straight away. Or, I will remove the threatening portion before I share the good content to my friends. The threatening message is like the virus, it help spreading the message fast, and it's very effective on those who are superstitious.

I hate chain letters and emails and delete them on the spot. I don't forward them to others, and despite all manner of silly*threats* I will happily delete them. Hardly a week goes by without me finding at least one of these wretched things in my inbox and I have asked all my friends not to send them to me in the hope that it will stop.

DELETE!! Never fear as sometime it's your own fear that makes things come true. This is what we call self-fulfilling prophecy. I can't even be bothered to read it.

i most of the time receive it but i never give a dime about it. i'm not superstisious. you can't change your luck by just believing in some ediotic story so be cool. what ever is going or happening to you may be a coincedance.

I routinely receive such messages, but I always break the chain. Well, they claim bad things can happen like that but my life goes on as it has been for eternity. So there is nothing to worry about them. If we have to do something like that, then it's better to send such messages which try and persuade someone for some kind of charity.

Don't ever believe in chain letters. It's like spam to me.It's rubbish. The first thing I'll do when I get one is D.E.L.E.T.E ! Nothing bad ever happens to me when I ignore chain mails/letters and nothing bad will ever happen to you when you ignore one.
