SALUTE TO 35+ MOMS WEEK
May 9 – 15, 2008
Motherhood is a challenge at any age, and if you have young children when you’re 35 or older, it can be quite an adjustment. This week is dedicated to moms with more life experience than baby experience. Now, and throughout the year, it is empowering to connect with peers and share the trials and tribulations that child-rearing may encompass when you parent later in life.
I had my oldest daughter when I was 34 years old and 11 months, and my youngest when I was 39. We wanted one more, to try for that son, but my health isn't the greatest when I am pregnant so they advised us against it.
I enjoyed waiting to have kids but then I think about the later years and that bothers me! My mom had me when she was 21 and we grew up together. There was no way I was ready at 21 to have kids.
Please share your thoughts!

I had my one and only at 17! Although I really wasn't ready to be a mom, I am so glad I had her. She is a blessing in my life and no regrets in choosing to keep her.
We are very close and I only hope when I have grandchildren I will be close to them as well.
I wanted more, but financially it was never the right time and now health wise it isn't a good time and my daughter is 25, so no I don't want one of my own. I'll settle for grandchildren.

I had my first the day before I turned 21, and now I know and if I had it to do over again... I would of waited another 5 years! LOL But I feel old... and it is time for grand kids! LOL and only 43... I shouldn't complain... my husbands mom is 61 and going to be a great gma! LOL sucks for her!
