nowadays i always take a nap. the reason is that i have this bruxism issue (read my discussion in bad habit during sleeping). and taking a nap is the only thing i can do to make my bruxism go away for now. so, i find taking nap is really necessary for me.
what about you?

I really don;t know much about your condition, if you feel it helps I guess it is okay, what does your doctor or dentist say about it?

Hi jofeli! Oh, I will try to see that discussion of yours in bruxism as I too, have been grinding my teeth when I sleep at night. Anyway, to answer your question if naps are really necessary for me. At times, yes they are necessary for me. Sometimes, I just needed to rest my eyes and tired body so I can feel more rejuvenated/energetic after a 30 minute nap. Because there are times that I sleep so late at night and then wake up very early the following morning. I tend to feel sluggish and kinda slow, so I need to recharge and a power nap will do the trick. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

Sometimes, our body need some rest even just a nap to be re-charge. I think that it is necessary for others while others may not need one. Whatever is the cause or reason, let it be that way. It is not a cause of alarm I think. I pray and hope that you will get well with your bruxism. Thank you.

I don't know about being necessary, but it sure is fun. Actually, there are times when I do think that naps are necessary. In situations such as yours, and also if you are tired, but have to drive somewhere later. I have sleep apnea and often have to take naps in order to function normally.
