no, You can't get a linux version of visual studio. For the obvious reason that microsoft want people to run its softwares on windows only.
All of a sudden trying new IDes may also be difficult. You can run visual studio on "vmware" on linux.

I don't know which distribution of linux, u r using.
I am using ubuntu. The complete guide "how to install vmware (virtual machine) and windows on that." is available at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=183209&highlight=howto+vmware+server
I think you can get such support for other distributions as well in their corresponding communities.

I have read it in some bolg that microsoft Visual Studio 2005 has linux version but never tried to find out the reality maybe i will try to search and find. but u can use solaris Developer's edition , it comes with default IDEs for java , c, c++ and almost all languages. Just check on the sun microsystem website for more details.

It seems alot of people misread your question...
No, you can't get Microsoft Visual Studio for Linux, but theres alot of good IDEs out there for various languages. Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org/) seems to be the most popular IDE out there in the Linux world, and supports syntax highliting for various languages and various other features you'd expect in a modern IDE. KDevelop (http://www.kdevelop.org/) is also another mature IDE.
Checkout this page I found, it gives a quick list of IDEs available for Linux:
