Do you sleep well? Have you ever taken a sleeping pill to get to sleep?

Up until this past January, I almost always slept well. Then I had trouble sleeping, and staying asleep. I'd wake up about every hour or so with discomfort. I wouldn't take a sleeping pill, but I did take a quarter of a pain pill (which is enough for somebody my size to dull the pain and let me fall back asleep.) Now that the Dr has me on the appropriate medicines, I have more good restful nights that I have had since January. Now that I'm on all these other meds, I couldn't take a sleeping pill OR a part of a pain pill if I needed, they don't mix with this bunch of meds. So, like last night, I woke about 4 am, and just lay in bed until 5 when I finally was able to be comfortable and fall back asleep a while. A bad nights sleep makes for a bad next day...you never feel rested, or completely mentally alert like you do with a good nights sleep. I think it throws the whole body system off!

I often take sleeping pills if I feel like i am not oging to be able to sleep when I go to bed. I recently started taking Effexor for anxiety and I have been slepeing better lately. You know what's funny? Just a wierd coincidence I guees, but you posted this discussion and the next discussion directy after yours on the "New Disscussions" list is titled "too much sleep will harm your health". Isn't that wierd?

I guess I must be one of the few lucky one who always can sleep well most of the time. Anyway, if I ever cant get to sleep well, I will get up and watch cartoon or just read a magazine or book, usually this method do help me to feel relax then can go asleep very soon. I never try any sleeping pill before as I try my best not to rely on medicine. However, in my opinion, for those with serious sleeping problem, this sleeping pill is really in need to help them to have a better sleep.
