Many services ask you that you notify them in a complaint if you are not happy with certain things. Which is just good customer service, but here is the kicker when you complaint do you feel that you get anythng accomplished? Do you feel that it just gets filed away and not taken seriously? Do you know what happens after you file your complaint? I have worked for a health insurance before so I'm somewhat privy to that knowledge. LOL!!!

Well Ive only complained a couple of times and to be honest I dont think they do a thing. But it sure felt good to complain and tell them how I felt about what happened.

It might not seem as though they done anything but they have documented that and if they are like the company I worked for before the end of the year the make a print out of all the complaints and then see what needs improvement. Now if it's a major complaint they are right on it I Have investigated against providers and ran investigations that sometimes goes into weeks and even then it depends on the privacy guideline if we tell them anything at all when we come to an outcome.

The thing is with stuff like that is sometimes you have to be a thorn in there side and complain alot before you get any result or answer of any kind. I have not had to handle things like that before but I know people who have and they kept bugging the them untill they got an answer. It was not always the answer they wanted but it was still an answer.

Actually, I don't think so.. but again, it depends on where and who you are complaining to. I think it also makes a lot of difference whether the company values customer service.. then again, the customer service these days are really lousy.

It also depends on how you approach the complaint if you are going off like a raving loon then they are going to disregaurd you .. What you want to do is list the reasons of your complaint with the examples and then have a reasonable request for a resolution. They can't give you the sun moon and stars but they can try and get their bosses to give you a resonable request.

I believe there are legitimate complaints and clients who are just complaining to be a pain in the @$$. Working for a health insurance company myself I have taken many complaints of both kinds. The ones that I feel are legitimate enough to get my blood boiling at the injustice done to the client I have followed along and ensured that an outcome was reached. The ones who were just being a pain in the @$$ because they had to pay a whopping $3 for a prescription got filed and I left them for someone with more patience to deal with. Now that I am in a position where I have been filing complaints against my sons health insurance provider I know that if I just call once more than likely whoever is in charge is going to take their sweet time getting me a resolution and it will more than likely be a resolution I am not happy with. So that is why I hound these people. I have left 6 voice mails in one day and when I wasn't contacted by the same time the next day I have moved up the chain until I spoke with a supervisor and not only gave them my original complaint but also complained about the lack of customer service skills their employee who wasn't calling me back possessed. To date I have had every complaint I have filed rectified to 90% satisfaction on my part. I'll fight for that other 10% until I am blue in the face.

It depends absolutely on the customer sevice who is dealing with my complain. But personally,I feel that whenever I am facing a problem with my telephone,I lodge a complain and after some hours it really worked, so it is clear that they take it seriously....

I think there IS, but it's up to us if we expect some reactions from them as well. In my case, I believe that it is enough for me to share what I think I know and should be taken care of. It's just about a matter of waiting, since time as we always consider is "essential." It's up for them to take up some actions or some adjustments, depends on the type of service they render to customers and clients..

its my question also. i have made complain for some services. i think it never helped in case of gov organizations mainly. there all people are lenient to it. but in private services it still works sometimes.

Hmmm that is a very good question sweetheart! I have known companies take a complaint very seriously and do everything they can to make up for the thing you have complained about while others just do not care at all and file the complaint in the bin! I think it is always worth making your complaint heard and if there is no follow up on it then keep reiterating the complaint to them - sooner or later they will get fed up listening to the complaint and most companies will eventually do something about it - if only to get peace! lol xxx

I dunno,Bella, I think that sometimes the complaint gets heard and acted upon, which is what should be done, but I have serious doubts about most of the complaints we make being taken seriously. My hubby complained to our Metrobus people the other day. I was treated very rudely by a driver, with no provocation, no reason, no justification, and Stu was livid about it, as was I. I SO hope that what he said gets truly heard and acted upon, but I really have my doubts that it will. I will surely run into this same driver again, and I wonder what his attitude will be. I guess we'll see, won't we? But if it happens again, Stu will be even more strident in his ranting to them, trust me, and I really hope it doesn't come to that. I'll let you know, ok? I'm wondering....

Normally, it's no use to complaint... The company won't do anything with it. so now, I don't even bother to complain as it just dun work and the company still remain the same. It's just a waste of time to complain.

Yes, sometimes it really helps because it will make the process more easier or they usually do something about it but ofcourse, not all times should we complain because there are certain things that you just have no choice but to wait. hayyy!

In Malaysia, it does. The customer service here in some places can get really bad and sometimes even complaining is not good enough unless you show up every day with a complaint! Sometimes I try to be nice while I'm complaining as in make it sound that it's not the customer service personnel's fault and that I'm just trying to give them some feedback. I try not to think about the possibility of them just filing my complaint away - the whole benefit of the doubt. There have been occasions when they get back to me after filing the complaint and offer free stuff or a refund or something, which is rare. In Switzerland, people don't throw tantrums or complaint like that - as a matter of fact, the Swiss get all upset whenever people complain.

Well, it depends on what you are Complaining about, and how far you have to go in making that complaint as well. Over the yrs. I have made a lot of complaints about things, and sometimes I feel like I did a Good job by making that complaint, and sometimes I felt as it was worthless doing so. Actually there is one I made about a company about a month ago, I am waiting to see if they are going to keep their promise on, or if I am going to have to call and complain about them again. Overall, I will be shocked if they keep their promise and send me the said paperwork by the 15th they said I will have. One complaint though that did get Good results was when I had some Insulin I got from WalMart that ended up not working well for me from the start. When I complained to the store itself, they told me I had to call the company that made the Insulin, but when I called WalMart headquarters to complain, they told me WalMart should replace it with no problem, and called the Head Pharmacist to let them know that, and so I was able to replace the insulin there at the store. But Customer Service for a lot of places anymore when it comes to how they deal with people usually leaves a lot to be desired. Overall, I think a lot of people need to be Trained better on how to deal with people to make everyone's experience just a little bit better. What will it take to get this? We probably never will know.

I guess they are reviewing that items and discussing it to the employee, in a way, they have an idea which area they need to improve as far as their business is concern! We always do that in my previous work and we always gather and tabulate the results. Call the attention of the particular department who receive some criticism and from there, draw our some way to uplift or improve it! It helps a lot, feedback is always an eye-opener that leads to a more better services!

I generally don't think anyone ever does things with complaints. But I have never complained seriously beyond a store.

It depends on the company (& your manner of approach). I've called in or written to many, & most are ready to fix the problem, so it's worth the effort. What I do (that everyone else would be wise to do) as well is COMPLEMENT companies & individuals out of the blue, when it's deserved. Most people don't do this "carrot AND stick" approach, & thus when a company hears GOOD things, they fall all OVER themselves to do better! And you might even get a freebie! LOL! But don't do it for THAT reason. I always tell them what concerns me is that I've always enjoyed their product or service, & I'm just nervous that quality control might be slipping, & I'd hate to see such mistakes put them out of business, which I've seen happen! Any GOOD company is GRATEFUL to take sensible complaints from reaasonable customers, knowing that most won't say WHY, they'll just stop buying! Maggiepie

there's nothing wrong in complaining..for as long as you have a basis or evidence of what you are complaining...it really helps a lot when you complain for something that is really wrong and unacceptable to you...though some might think that you might defy authority but still for as long as you have your stand and basis then i think there's nothing wrong with complaining..
