Have you had a perfect day?

May 9, 2008 10:02am CST
Yesterday seemed like an almost perfect day to me. The places I went, the things I did, the people I met, the sights I saw, the weather and the way I felt, all made it seem quite perfect. It gave me a wonderful feeling about life. The only downside? I only earned 8 cents at myLot, my lowest day's earnings since day one, but really I don't mind because I was out having a lovely time! Have you ever had a day that seemed perfect?

Yes, I just have a perfect day. I went out shopping with my best friend and do a lot of crazy things. We have spent lots of money, buying comparatively expensive high heels and clothes that we seldom have in that style before. We just enjoy ourselves by doing all those crazy things. It seems that this is the craziest shopping we have ever had during our university life. The wether was hot and we are tired tough, but we did enjoy it. My friend said that she seemed to have life after doing this.

I have enjoyed many perfect days, epecially since I retired seven years ago... I'm 55 and I still love to party, and enter recipes contests and make people laugh, too! :) The story of my best perfect day, the day that I retired, can be found here at Mylot... I hope that you enjoy it, and that you will have another perfect day in the UK! :) http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1280243.aspx

I have just read and enjoyed your discussion on turning 55. I had my 55th birthday two months ago! I too can celebrate on my own and I welcome any attention I may get. I have had some good days this week. I think I am so lucky to live where I do, as I can enjoy a quiet evening stroll on the beach or walk all day in beautiful places. Keep on partying and spreading happiness in your retirement peaceful.

Yesterday was my granddaughter's 7th birthday. We went out together after school to pick out a gift for her and have dinner together. We also went to the library to return books; she didn't want to go in. She told me she was taking a vacation from reading. She picked out a bed for her doll as her present. She told me her baby had the same birthday as she did, so they could share the bed. She was so thrilled with it that she held it in the car. She picked the place we had dinner. She said we both like Moe's, so that's where we went. She wanted to sit next to me rather than across from me in the booth, so that's what we did. Dinner was very good. After we ate we went across the street for ice cream at a place called Minnie Moo. She had mango ice cream with gummy bears. She ate the gummy bears separately, saying the didn't go with the mango ice cream. I had mint ice cream to which they added chocolate flakes, making my favorite flavor: mint chocolate chip. Then we went home to plant 5 tomato seeds in the little 2 inch pot she also got for her birthday. They need to go into the ground when they are 3 inches tall. It was a wonderful day. We both had a great time.

Perfection is perceived, not achieved. You changed your routine, got out and enjoyed the day. Absolutely nothing wrong with that in spite of the fact you only earned 8 cents. Some days you just have to take a break. If you don't you will begin to perceive every day as drudgery. I try to take at least one day a week away from the computer. I chat some in mylot every day, work on either a blog or squidoo page or something else that allows my creativity to present itself to the world. I also work in the yard, bead, make soap, all of which bring in a little money. But even though life takes money, making money can't be ALL that life is about. I think you did yourself a great favor getting out and enjoying life for a day.

Thanks, it's true a change in routine is always a good idea. I always have a break in my day and go out for a while but taking a whole day out is a treat.

Recently..i don't think that i had one such a day in my life.. Mostly it is very ordeal...exactly the repetition of the same work for last four years.. No such kind of thing that strikes my memory now to share it with you here.. May be..if i grill my memory for sometime.. i can get a thing or two... one such thing strikes my mind..now.. it was playing with my niece's who are 8 and 4 respectively, when they had come to my home on summer holidays..

I think that I've had perfect days in my life. Sometimes I pass right through them without noticing. Other days when things are not perfect, I look around and take notice. It's then that I most appreciate the glorious days that I have missed. I try to learn a lesson from those missed opportunities and pay more attention next time. Be well. Have a good week!

That is so true, it's possible not to appreciate how perfect a day is at the time, then look back later and see it really was a wonderful day.

Join the real world. I have days where I feel contented with all I have done or accomplished. Looking back I recall days when I was a child on my grandma's acreage. I ate every kind of fruit, I roamed the countryside, alot of good days and memories.
