most of us has a computer in our homes, except for those who rents to surf online and do mylotting. some has a laptop, notebook or a desktop pc. some people like me are who are semi geeky with technology, i try to fill in all the gaps in my pc. adding a 2.1 speakers (with a subwoofer), a 4 port usb hub, a webcam, an additional mouse that is wireless ( i do not know why i got another one)and headset. and i am still thinking of changing my crt monitor to a 22 inch flat lcd monitor. am i the only one or are there anyone who is a lot geeky than me. as for the others, do you really care?

When I bought my PC (desktop) it came with a flat screen, two little speakers and a woffer thingymagig. I bought a printer come fax come scanner. Then ended up buying a headset so that we can use skype - wonderful creation that!
My computer has two USB ports so I can update my iPod whilst downloading pictures from my digital camera all at the same time!
I think that's it for this ignoramous!
Thanks for sharing this with us

Oh yeah, having the digital camera downloaded on to your computer is brilliant.
However, I do recommend that you have re-writable DVDs to hand so that you can download them. You just don't want to lose them if you get a virus or anything like that. I would be heart broken if I lost my pictures because you don't always print them all out, there are too many of them, just print out the best ones. But it is a great way to share photos with mylot!

or better yet , buy an external hard disk. virus won't reach there unless you scan everything first and that would save you space and money.

huh? why downgrade to centrino? go for core-duo.so it would support all the peripherals better.

Right now both computers need more memory and a discrete video card.
I need to get a new monitor and am considering a 22 inch widescreen LCD.
My wife's pc needs a bigger hardrive as she does a lot of craft charts.
There are always things that can be done to make a computer better, it is just a matter of being able to afford the components.

Hehehe--all the more reason to have a Mac computer...we have built in speakers and webcam in the monitor...LOL. The additions hooked up to my computer though are my printer and film scanner...why we Mac users don't even have to worry about a separate "tower" it's all built into the monitor as well..so we can playback DVD/CDs and burn them too....hah, hah, hah

I am not too geeky I just put in speakers with subwoofer instead of the ordinary speakers, because I used it also as my dvd, and like to hear sounds with the woofer and only headseat. I am using the ordinary monitor on our desktop. Thats all I have.

I added a webcam to my pc used it once and have not used it since. I also added a wireless mouse and keyboard as i prefer wireless. I also have an mutli-function printer that scans, copies and prints of course.
I would love to get a flatscreen moniter but at the moment just can't afford one.

I am not much of a geek in technology or gadget but I love electronic gadgets myself. I have a laptop before and bought a speaker for increasing the sound as I loved playing music in it and also a cam and headset for chatting. But with my desktop, only the printer and headset is attached as my cam got busted already. A lot of other gadgets we also install as we use the computer a lot for downloading such as my PDA, cellphone, digicam, external hardrive for storage among others. My brother has her own set and bought a flat lcd monitor with speakers and card reader.

I have an external hard drive for my laptop, since it only had 50GB of space, so I added an extra 80GB. I am not actually using it yet though since I still have loads of space on my laptop. I have a 4 port USB hub too for my main computer, since the way the two ports are designed at the front it is hard to get more than one thing at a time. That has broke now, so I might get a new one or might not since I use my laptop most the time now. I also have a web cam but I don't use it that much, my sister uses it the most.

i would suggest that you make use of your 50 gig for your programs and the 80 gig as for your files so it would be protected from virus.

I do not have 50GB worth of programs or programs and files, so everything just goes together on my laptop and I use my external hard drive as a memory stick at the moment to take data to and from college, since I have lost my memory stick.
